In 2012, Marvel Vs. Capcom Origins was released as a downloadable title from the Playstation Network. Origins includes Marvel Super Heroes and Marvel Vs. Capcom. Marvel Super Heroes is as close to the arcade version as you could hope for, and several extras have been included. The main addition is that this version has online play, which has good quality netcode thanks to it using GGPO. It also has a training mode, where you can practice moves and combos.

By playing the game you can complete challenges and unlock points. The challenges include things such as getting a certain amount of perfects, or winning a certain amount of rounds via time over. Points can be spent in the vault, and you can buy stuff like concept artwork and ending movies, but more usefully, you can permanently unlock Thanos and Doctor Doom. Anita can also be unlocked, making her officially playable in the American version for the first time.

There are also trophies to unlock, most of which are fairly easy to get -such as beating the game with all the good and evil characters, and one for beating the game without losing a round. Unfortunately Marvel Vs. Capcom Origins has been delisted, meaning you can't buy it anymore.
