The PlayStation version of Children of the Atom was released in 1998 -which meant it was actually released after the PlayStation version of Marvel Super Heroes, the sequel to this game. It was also only released in America and Europe -there was no Japanese release of the PlayStation version. |
This version has all of the characters, moves and stages. But whilst the graphics look the part, a lot of animation has been cut, and the whole thing is quite choppy because of this. Fighting Sentinel in this version is a nightmare, as the game becomes practically a slide-show. Many background details were simplified, for example, the guys running around the buildings on Colossus' stage are missing in this version. |
One major advantage of this version, however, is that it has a code that lets you use Juggernaut and Magneto in the 2 player versus mode -and the code is really easy to use, too. This version lets you use the both bosses without reverting to hacking the game via a cheat device, and naturally being able to use them and their ridiculously over-powered moves is quite a joy, even if it is only in the 2 player mode. |
