The Neo Geo X has a bit of a controversial history. I can't say that I like playing on it much, as I don't like the thumbstick on the handheld unit, and I'm useless with arcade sticks.

Playthrough with Ryo. The first game has a reputation for being quite hard, but I don't think it gets too difficult until you reach the bosses. For Mr. Big you just want to let him come to you and then hit him after he's used his roll or cross diving move. The final boss is trickier, but there are a few things he tends to fall for (such as countering his jumps with a standing kick). |

Playthrough with Ryo. This is the easiest game in the series, but is still fairly tough, especially when trying to play it with a thumbstick. |

Playthrough with Terry. This is one of the easier Neo Geo games to playthrough, Terry's burn knuckle and power wave are the only moves you really need to get through the entire game. |

Playthrough with Laurence. This one was a nightmare. The game is too hard and also goes on for way too long (they really shouldn't have had you fight every character), plus the additional Neo Geo X controller issues I have just make it worse. The general plan is to use Laurence's bloody spin attack, and then when the opponent blocks it, hit them with a strong kick, and repeat. I managed to get the hidden Ryo fight, which you can do by beating the game without losing any rounds. |

Playthrough with Marco. Mark of the Wolves is one of the easier SNK fighters, and even the bosses aren't that bad for once. The final boss gets a big advantage in the last round since he gets infinite T.O.P., but even then he doesn't quite suffer from SNK Boss Syndrome. One little tip: if you ever knock the CPU down, throw a fireball out and time it so it makes contact with the opponent as they get up. The CPU never seems to block this, so it lets you get a free hit in. |

Playthrough with Omega Rugal, Saisyu and Mai. Omega Rugal and Saisyu can be unlocked with the use of a cheat code on the character select screen. Playing as the bosses doesn't guarantee easy wins against the CPU, though. |

Playthrough with Andy, Robert and Yuri. This version of the game is one of the worst games available on Neo Geo X, mainly because it sometimes lags for unknown reasons -you'll see it happens a few times during the fights against Chizuru and Goenitz. I haven't had any issues like this with any other Neo Geo X games. |

Playthrough with Kaede. My capture card has some issues whilst recording this, which is why the game's intro stutters several times at the start. The intro can be seen again at the end of the video without any issues. Generally speaking this game is not that hard to get through, the only opponent who's really difficult is the final boss. |

I've beaten this game several times on other consoles already, and know it pretty well at this point. The original Metal Slug isn't that difficult to beat on one credit. Overall none of the missions are too hard other than the last one, a few of them have a few tricky parts (like the beginning of mission three and parts of mission five). |

Playthrough with Andy. This is this easiest of the Real Bout series, with the only difficult part being the hidden Geese Howard boss battle. |

Playthrough with Ryofu. This game can be quite difficult, but Ryofu's spear makes things a lot easier. There's a catch though: the best ending, which is also the only way to see the credits, is incredibly hard to get. You have to beat Zeus in the last round with more than 75% health. This doesn't sound so bad, but the problem is he can take off well over 25% of you life with just one attack, even with one of his basic kicks. Enjoy the ending shown here because if I do any more playthroughs of this game, I won't be going for the best ending again. For some reason, this video recorded at 50fps instead of 60fps, no idea why. I've only just realized and since i no longer own my Neo Geo X I can't re-record it. Sorry about that. |

Playthrough with Ryoko, this run includes the secret Son Gokuu boss fight. To get him to appear you have to do a number of specific things on certain stages. The CPU is tough, but Ryoko has a couple of good moves that can help you win. Her running throw -where she runs across the screen and tries to grab the opponent -can be spammed a lot, and her energy ball is good for getting opponents just as they get up. She has got a super move, but I'll admit I can't do it in battle -it's a command grab with a difficult input motion, and I've only ever managed to do it in training mode. Not that it really matters, as I still beat the game without it. Winning or losing the first round against Zeus, by the way, results in Neo Dio appearing to fight you as the true final boss. |
