Start moving right and you'll encounter mud-men, who drop from the ceiling in a slime form. If you hit them as they fall it can instantly kill them, otherwise they can take a couple of hits from the whip after they've hit the ground. This room also contains a couple of vampire bats, either kill them or ignore them and head through the door on the right.

Past the door is a small room with not much in it other than a rope and a couple of candles. Head down the rope to arrive in another small room, this one has a single vampire bat waiting. Try to jump off the rope and take it out with an attack in the air, then head down the rope on the left. This leads to a long corridor, where the walls have several holes in them. Creatures known as undermoles will appear and then leap out of these holes, before jumping around you. Try to kill them before they jump out of the holes if you can (the axe can be very useful for the ones higher up) and continue right. Eventually you'll see a rope, so climb up it.

This next room has several spikes on the walls. The circles in the wall will flash, when they do the spike will extend, providing you with a platform so you can move up. Be careful not to get hit by the spikes as you'll take a lot of damage if you do. Get to the rope at the top left and then climb up, once you reach the next room jump off the rope and drop down. Continue right and be ready to deal with all of the undermoles waiting in the walls. Kill them all and then head through the door.

There's not much to do in the next room other than head down the rope. The next room has more extending spikes, only this time you need to drop down rather than go up. You'll have to time your descent so you don't get hit by the spikes, so move carefully and then head down the rope on the left. In the next room, continue straight down the rope...

...and keep going down it through the next room. Eventually the rope will come to an and, and you'll need to quickly use an extending spike to get over a bottomless pit. Once you do this, climb up the ropes on the right and work your way back up until you get to a door you can go through.

This next room presents a new challenge: darkness. If you take out all of the candles on the screen, everything will get dark and you won't be able to see almost anything, including gaps in the floor. You will be able to see a new enemy called mollusk, these things only come to life when it's dark. So to make this area easier, make sure not to take out all of the candles. Another option is to keep throwing holy water, if you have it -it will temporarily light up the room for every one you throw.

There are a few gaps in the floor so try not to make things dark. Other enemies in this area include some vampire bats and big eyes. Once you get to a rope, head down it and you'll be in another room with more of the same -avoid whipping all of the candles to keep the lights on, and watch out for the big eyes.

This area is quite enemy heavy and also has several bottomless pits, so keeping the lights on is essential. Eventually you'll see a door, go through it and the next room just has a couple of candles and a rope in it. Go down the rope.

The next room features a large moving spike trap, which will descend and try to crush you if you go under it. Whip the two poles repeatedly to destroy the trap, which will crash into the ground. You can then walk over it and get to the rope on the other side of the room. You'll then enter another room which has the same thing in it. If you want to you can continue straight down the rope on the right, otherwise destroy the spike trap and then go down the room on the left. It doesn't really matter which route you take here as they both lead to the same room, you'll just be on different sides. Work your way down...

...and in the next room you'll find two punaguchis waiting. The upside down one can be annoying to deal with since its projectiles can get in the way, but get past it and then go down the rope on the left. This leads to a room with a single knife lizard in it, so get off the rope as soon as possible and take it out. Once it's dead, go through the door on the right. In the next room, head down the rope.

The rope will end in the next room, fall off it and try and whip the candles on your descent, as you can get some bonus items. Eventually you'll fall into a small arena, whip the candle and collect the crystal to make the Lord of the Rock Castle to appear: Iron Doll. A giant clad in a heavy suit of armor and wielding a large sword, Iron Doll doesn't pose much of a threat at first.

Iron Doll's only attack is a slow sword slash, which it takes a while to do, so avoid it and then start striking back with the whip. Once Iron Doll has lost half of his health, his armor will be destroyed, but he's not dead yet. He'll suddenly become a lot more agile, and has a new attack: an energy wave. He'll swing his sword and unleash this projectile, which moves quickly. He will jump around a lot, but you can use the ropes on either side of the room to get out of his way. Don't think you're safe up there though, as he can send out the energy wave whilst jumping.

If he uses the energy wave whilst he's on the ground, you can duck to avoid it. Try and get a couple of hits in and then move away as he jumps, then repeat. He doesn't have too much health left anyway once he's lost his armor, and once he's lost all of his health, he'll die for real this time. Have you been noticing the spirit crystals that appear and fly off the screen once a boss has died?
