The opening part of this stage features several vampire bats to kill, however given how cramped it is here it can be very difficult to avoid taking any hits from them. Head further right to find even more bats, which are just as difficult to fight. Once they've been dealt with, drop down and head right to encounter a new enemy: a punaguchi. These things don't move, but will fire fast moving projectiles out of their mouths. Get in close and whip them several times to kill them. You can also whip their projectiles to destroy them.

Head right and kill the punaguchi on the ledge, then drop down and head right. You have a choice here, you can either go up a rope and take a higher route, or drop down. If you go up you'll have to kill another punaguchi, but there are lots of items to obtain. If you go down you'll have to fight another new enemy: a Zeldo. These are armed with boomerang scythes, so when they attack you'll need to either jump or duck to avoid it. They take several hits to kill. The two routes will reconnect, so head down the rope on the right.

You'll drop into a small room with another punaguchi in it, try and avoid it's attack and then take it out. You will then have to make a difficult jump, where you will need to get onto the small platform and let it drop, but then jump off it onto the ledge below. Once you've done that, head to the rope in the bottom right corner and go down it. The next room requires you to get across a bottomless pit by making use of two platforms which fall down as soon as you land on them -jump off the very edge of the ledge to the first platform, then quickly jump across to the second one. From there, jump over to the ledge on the left and then head down the rope. The next room has two punaguchis in it, try to destroy their projectiles and then move in close to kill them. Once they're dead, head down the rope in the bottom left corner.

The next room is a long one, filled with several bridges. Make your way right, and you'll keep having to deal with big eyes, which roll across each bridge. If you destroy these, it will create a gap in the bridge, so try jumping over them instead.

Once you are off the bridges, head down the rope. You'll drop down into a new room which has two ropes in it, in the bottom left and right corners. This part is actually a small maze, where you need to go down the correct ropes to progress. First, go down the rope on the right. In the next room, kill the vampire bats and then go down the rope on the right again.

In the next room, there are a couple more vampire bats to kill. Once they're dealt with, head down the rope on the left to get out of the maze. You'll then drop into a room with a few steps in it, quickly head right but watch out for the big eyes that will follow you. Grab onto the rope at the right and head down it. You'll drop into a room with another punaguchi in it, it can be difficult to avoid taking any damage from its attack as you'll have to drop down before you can get close enough to kill it. Once it's dead, go down the rope in the bottom right corner.

The next room is a fairly pointless one, so once you've dropped down, head left and go down the rope. The next room has two Zeldos in it, avoid their attacks and kill them. Keep heading right and you'll find a rope where you can either go up or down. This is actually a trick -if you go up, you'll just be back in the same room you were just in, so go down the rope instead.

You'll drop down into the boss arena. Collect the crystal and then be ready to fight the boss: Undermoles. There are several of these creatures to deal with, which burst out of the four holes in the background. They'll drop down and start jumping all over the place, trying to crash into you. They will wait a couple of seconds before jumping out of the hole, so try to kill them before they jump, or be in position to hit them as they leap down if they are in one of the higher holes.

The key thing with this battle is to not let the undermoles overwhelm you. There will only be even two out of their holes at once, but due to how fast they are they can take you out very quickly. If you fail to kill one of them after a few seconds, it will jump back into one of the holes. You can kill any waiting on the left, middle or right holes before they jump out, only the ones at the very top can't be immediately killed due to them being out of reach.
