The Cybertron Headmasters are out on space patrol again, but things are pretty boring. Chromedome moans about how dull it is and suggests that now is their chance -Galvatron is missing, so they should attack the Destron planet of Jaar. The others agree with Chromedome's suggestion, but Fortress says they shouldn't be so hot blooded. He says they can defend themselves when they are attacked, but doesn't think they should be going out starting wars.
On Earth, everything seems normal in San Francisco when suddenly a building begins to shake. The people inside it evacuate when a killer plant smashes through the floor. The plant takes over the building, destroying the roof, and becoming very large.
The police are called in, and tell people to back away. Some police helicopters arrive and when the pilots see the plant, they start shooting at it.
News of the plant reaches Cybertron City. Ultra Magnus gets the Airbots, Techbots and Trainbots together and tells them to go out and help with the evacuation -they need to keep casualties to a minimum. Back in San Fran, the police aren't going so well but then the Cybertrons arrive and start attacking the plant. But even their powerful lasers don't seem to be able to damage it.
The plant isn't the only enemy -the Destrons are also on the scene, as Bruticus appears, saying he has been waiting for them. The Trainbots unite into Raiden, and the two gestalts fight each other with laser swords. Meanwhile, the Techbots start fighting the plant.
However more Destrons show up, as Menasor appears and attacks the Techbots. The Airbots continue to shoot at the plant from above, whilst back in Cybertron City, Ultra Magnus watches. There is no energy zone in the area, so he wonders why the Destrons are here.
Magnus decides to let the Cybertron Headmasters know what is going on on Earth. Fortress says he might have heard of this plant and says he'll find out more, whilst Chromedome and the others are itching to get to Earth since they want to fight. Magnus chuckles at the young ones, but says he's counting on them. Meanwhile, on Jaar...
...Scorponok is laughing to himself, and is even more happy when Soundblaster reports to him that the Cybertron Headmasters are heading to Earth. Scorponok says that everything is going to plan, as once again they've managed to get their enemies to head to Earth and away from Destron activity.
Meanwhile Fortress has looked into the plant, and believes it must have come from planet Darhos. It is known as Buridanka. Fortress and the others know Scorponok and the Destrons must have planted it on Earth somehow, and this is most likely a trap. Fortress says they can still deal with it, but they need to save the people on Earth also. Battleship Maximus heads to Earth.
On Athenia, Daniel finishes his supper and tells Carly that he's going out for a while. He wants to check on his plant in the botanical gardens. As he goes outside, Wheelie meets him and isn't impressed, as he thinks gardening is for old people. His plant then suddenly bursts out of the ground, but it looks nothing like the picture on the seed packet. Wheelie tries to destroy it, but it knocks him down. The two go back inside the base to tell Spike.
Back in San Francisco, the Cybertron attack on the plant has ceased due to all the Cybertrons having to fight off the Destrons. The Cybertron Headmasters arrive on the scene and see that all the humans have now been evacuated already, so they try to attack the plant. But they end up being thrown off it.
The Destron Headmasters appear and laugh at the Cybertrons, saying that they will never be able to destroy this plant. Chromedome questions this but the plant then grows even larger in size and destroys the building it grew in, revealing that it has 2 huge legs and starts to run around the city. This forces the Cybertron Headmasters to back off.
On Athenia, Daniel shows his father the plant and how it is completely different to the one shown on the seed packet, although Spike notices how this different plant isn't actually doing anything at the moment. Daniel and Wheelie start throwing rocks at the plant, which irritates it and it tries to bite a chunk out of Daniel. Spike moves him out of the way just in time, and he takes Daniel and Wheelie back inside the base.
Back on Earth, the special teams have combined into their larger robot forms and are fighting each other, whilst the Cybertron Headmasters battle with the plant. But their lasers can't even dent it now.
Inside the Athenia base, Arcee researches the plant and explains to Spike and the others that it is a man eater. Spike says that the Destrons must have been the ones who switched the seeds around and made sure that Daniel got them. Before they can discuss their next move, Daniel's plant has grown into a much larger monster and starts to batter the walls of the base.
Fortress is informed about how there is now a plant monster on Athenia, but he knows that he can't do anything about it until they find the weak point of the one on Earth. But then things get worse as the Earth plant monster attacks Fortress' ship, disrupting the communication to Athenia.
Scorponok watches the carnage through a viewsceen on Jaar and is delighted that the plant is growing larger and larger, and it will soon destroy Fortress. The plant starts to smash Battleship Maximus to the ground, throwing Fortress around inside it. The Destron Headmasters take advantage of their distracted Cybertron counterparts by shooting them.
Back on Athenia, Carly runs into the room saying that Daniel is trying to fight the plant. Outside, Daniel is hitting the plant with a stick, as he feels guilty. This plant came from the seeds he brought to Athenia, this is his fault. The plant goes to eat him but Spike arrives in time to push his son out of the way. He tells him this isn't his fault, it is the Destrons who did this.
Back in his ship, Fortress knows that he'll die if this carries on. He then looks at an object in front of him, in one of the ship's panels. It is the handle of a sword, and he decides to put the sword to the test.
Fortress tries to remove the sword, but finds that he cannot. Outside, he hears the cries of his fellow warriors, who are under attack.
Fortress puts his hand on the sword again, only this time, he manages to remove it -he pulls out the Master Sword! Battleship Maximus suddenly releases a burst of energy, which causes the Buridanka to release the ship. The ship then moves up, going into space.
"Big mode! Transform!"
"Head ON!"
Battleship Maximus has transformed into a massive robot body -and Fortress transforms into a head for it. A much larger version of the Master Sword appears in his hand. This is:
FORTRESS MAXIMUS
The Destrons decide now is probably a good time to leave, and do so. Fortress Maximus lands and draws the Master Sword. This sword is the blade of blades, and can only be used by the righteous and just. However, the wielder will become weak for a period of time after using it. Fortress Maximus runs towards the Buridanka, which runs towards him, but there can only be one winner. Fortress Maximus slices the plant up.
After taking several hits, the Buridanka explodes. On Jaar, Scorponok has seen everything, but says he will not give up so easily. Once his ultimate weapon is complete, Fortress will not be able to defeat him. Back on Earth, the Cybertron Headmasters look in amazement at their leader, as not even they knew he was capable of transforming like this. Fortress Maximus says he has his reasons, but for now, they need to go back to Athenia.
On Athenia, the other Buridanka suddenly explodes and dies. Spike reports this to Fortress, and the two guess that when the one on Earth was killed, it must have set off a chain reaction somehow which killed the other one. Daniel then says he's sorry for bringing the monster plant to Athenia, but Fortress says that it is not his fault and that he is happy everyone on Athenia is safe. The narrator ends the episode by saying that even though the Cybertrons have a new weapon, they must be cautious of whatever it is Scorponok is building.
NOTES
Bruticus and Raiden both have lightsabers, for some reason. They are never seen with these weapons again.
