Having defeated the evil Priest, Earnest finds a young girl. He wakes her up and asks if she's ok, but she asks about the Priest. He tells her not to worry as he's defeated him. He givers her his jacket, and then asks if she knows anything about an old book that's supposed to be in this room. But before she can answer, they hear a laugh. Earnest turns around and sees that there's someone else in the room, and he has the Necronomicon! He asks if this is what they're looking for. He then introduces himself, saying that his name is Zigfried Munhausen.

He sees that they are after the Necronomicon, but his master, Lord Al Capone, has ordered him to retrieve it. He's sorry, but he'll be taking the book. Earnest gets angry and questions what that bastard Capone is up to. Zigfried says that he was told nothing, at which point Earnest whips him and restrains his arm. He starts to pull on the whip...

...but Zigfried pulls out a gun and shoots the whip, breaking it. Earnest stumbles back and crashes into Annet, knocking them both down. Zigfried laughs and says what a mysterious, evil book this seems to be -Lord Capone will be pleased. He then steps back and vanishes into the shadows. Earnest and Annet get up. Earnest curses and says how close he was, but then sees the girl staring at him. He apologizes and realizes he doesn't even know her name. He tells her that his name is Earnest Evans, what's hers?

She says that her name is Annet. She's a Priestess whose life is dedicated to keeping the power of the Necronomicon sealed from the outside world.

"Annet shed heavy tears as she told me about herself, and then continued to cry until exhaustion overtook her and she fell asleep. It's funny, they call me the greatest treasure hunter, yet in times like these, I'm at a complete loss for words...

For this girl's sake, we headed towards Europe in pursuit of Zigfried. This job has nothing but question marks. But one thing is absolutely clear: I will crush the Capone family. They should never have crossed me.
"

Earnest and Annet have the Necronomicon. They are traveling through Europe via train, where they come across a woman called Charlotte. She asks them if they're alright, but Annet tells Earnest to not just stand there and stare, they need to get out of here now! But he tells her that in Europe, a gentleman always treats a lady with kindness. The mademoiselle needs to worry not. But Charlotte suddenly gets close to Earnest and asks him if he's sure he isn't injured? He says not to worry, but she raises her hand, revealing that the ring on her finger has a small spike in it...

...which she places on Earnest's neck. He collapses almost immediately, much to Annet's horror. But Charlotte just laughs, as she takes the Necronomicon.

Earnest needs to get off this train, but it's full of Al Capone's goons. Head left and you'll come across a couple of gangsters who wield pipes, these guys aren't that smart and if you run past or jump over them, they usually won't follow. Keep going left and you'll fine a guy with a machinegun, duck to avoid being shot as the bullets to a lot of damage. Kill him and then head through the next carriage, where there's another guy with a pipe.

Once you get out of the last carriage, you can't exit to the left yet. Instead, use the pile of coal as a platform to jump onto the top of the carriage, and head right. There are a couple of planes which will shoot at you, so keep moving to avoid them, as their bullets can kill you very quickly. Keep going right and jump over the guy with a machinegun, you'll land between him and two other gangsters. These guys won't ever turn around though so take them out, and the collect then yellow relic. After that, head back left and drop off the last carriage.

Once you get to the coal carriage, there's a surprise boss to fight: a coal monster! This thing darts around a lot, but only has one attack: it will shoot out a stream of fire which can do a lot of damage if you stay in contact with it. Stay under the boss and crouch, as then it can't hit you whilst you can whip away. Once the coal monster is dead, head left and you can escape via plane.

NOTES

As you might have gathered already, something doesn't add up with the cutscenes here. Zigfried is seen taking the Necronomicon, and Earnest says that are going to pursue him to get it back. But then suddenly Earnest has the Necronomicon when he talks to Charlotte. My guess is that there was originally supposed to be another level set between these two cutscenes that was cut from the game, perhaps Zigfried would have been the boss of it.

Charlotte's outfit keeps changing colors between shots, sometimes it's blue, sometimes it's purple.

There is a massive shortcut at the start of this level -as soon as the level starts, just hold left and you'll land on the top of the train.

This is another level where the boss theme music doesn't play during the boss fight.
