Annet has beaten her opponent, who collapses. She says she needs to hurry and turns around before starting to walk away. But before she can get going, she is suddenly stopped when someone grabs her ankle! Annet is startled to see...
...that her opponent isn't dead! He gets back up and picks Annet up with him...
...and then throws her straight into a tree, which causes Annet to lose consciousness. Later on, Annet has been taken onto a train and left alone with Zigfried, who is making some tea. Annet wakes up and recognizes him straight away.
Zigfried says this is perfect timing, as he's just poured a cup of tea. He asks if she's wondering why he, who was exiled to America and hates the Nexuses, is wearing their army uniform. Annet says she is so he explains he has something to show her that will clear everything up. They and a couple of guards open a door to reveal something Zigfried is working on: bio-weapons.
Annet is appalled as Zigfried says how amazing they are. He tells her to behold the capacity of the human form for transformation, and they'll be used to conquer the world as the most powerful force known to mankind. Annet asks if he even knows what he's saying. She thinks this is blasphemy against God. Zigfried smiles and asks which God? A God like the evil God, Hastur? Or...? Before he can go on, two guards grab Annet.
She screams no and for them to let go of her, and she manages to break free. She starts to run away from Zigfried, and whilst the guards chase after her, he just watches.
Annet needs to get off this train as soon as possible, unfortunately, some of Zigfried's bio-weapons have gotten loose. These monsters may look big and fierce, but they're actually pretty silly. They only have one attack, where the jump around and spin, and it doesn't even do that much damage. Using Annet's combo on them doesn't work that well so it's best to use the cyclone blade a lot. Note that you can't throw these enemies. If you need some health items, try attacking some of the empty tubes dotted around the level.
There are quite a lot of these monsters in this level, so it might be best to get one of Annet's more powerful magic attacks ready before fighting a large group of them. The only other enemies in this level are the claw ladies, who fight the same as the one featured in the second level. There's one more of these enemies left to fight at the end of the level.
Defeat her and the boss will appear: a large, green monster. This boss has two attacks. Its favorite attack is to try and slash you with its claws. It also has an extremely annoying headbutt move, which makes Annet's jumping attacks next to useless against it. The best option for this fight is to wait for the boss to use its claw attack, then quickly move in with a dash kick. If this hits the boss will be knocked down, so move away and let the boss get back up. Then repeat this process.
NOTES
When the cutscene starts, Annet is shown to be slightly fatigued -she's out of breath for all of about 3 seconds! The reason this is notable is because throughout the rest of the game (and in all of El Viento's cutscenes, thinking about it) she never appears to be tired or injured after fighting in any way. Every other enemy must have been weak compared to that boss. Which is ironic as the boss of level 3 never appears in the game again, despite him being the only one who managed to take Annet out.
The part of the cut-scene showing Annet with less clothing than usual is about 20% larger than any other part. I wonder why. Not that I was doing an in-depth study to find that out or anything. Gurgle.
As soon as Annet is taken by Zigfried to see his genetic monstrosities, she has magically gotten her jacket and gauntlets back. Zigfried seemed to have the right idea with removing the latter (and the former if you like that kind of thing) because that meant that Annet can't use her sword. But perhaps he didn't know this at the time.
Two guys are shown chasing after Annet just before the level starts, but they are never seen in the actual level itself.
The last breakable tube in this level doesn't actually have an item in it. This is the only breakable object in the entire game that doesn't contain a power-up.
