Earnest Evans has been summoned to the country of Renvrandt. Annet Meiya goes with him, and two head there via boat. They arrive at a place near the European border, and head into a large castle.

Earnest has come here to appraise the treasures in this castle, so he and Annet are looking at what's on offer. However, as this is Earnest's forte and not Annet's, Annet asks why she was brought along. Earnest admits he can't think of anything so Annet wonders what to do, but then Kirke arrives. He says that Princess Aisha would like to see her. Earnest thinks this is a great idea and tells Annet to be on her best behavior. Soon Annet stands in front of the Princess.

The Princess thinks the world is full of wonders, which Annet agrees with. She then asks her about her pendant. Annet explains that it's a memento from her adoptive father, the Meiya High Priest. The Princess asks if she could see it, so Annet gives it to her, but the moment she does this, the Princess suddenly orders for her guards to get rid of Annet!

Annet dodges the two soldiers sent to get her, and then shoots out a window before crashing through it. She lands in a courtyard below, and starts to run.

Annet needs to escape from the castle, but there are a lot of guards around the place. The first three enemies you'll encounter are a commando in green, a knight and a robot in red and silver. The robot moves quickly and can do a flying kick, whilst the knight has a powerful cut and thrust technique, but is slow to move. The commando can do some quick and powerful punches, and also has a flying uppercut move, but he'll often stand around before attacking. Once these guys are down, smash any golden states you see to reveal some health items, if you need them. Another knight and two robots will then appear.

After you beat these you'll get to a quite crowded area, where you'll have to fight two knights and two robots -don't hesitate to use a magic attack here to clear them all out quickly. Once you reach a (strangely non-reflective) large mirror, there will be another knight and a commando to beat up. Once these have been dealt with, the boss will appear. He's a large gladiator who's armed with a sword.

This boss has two attacks. The first is a slow move where he'll smash his sword into the ground. The other is where he'll just swing his sword out in front of him. Both of these attacks will do major damage to Annet if she gets hit by them though, but after the boss does an attack, he won't do anything for a few seconds. Use this time to move in and use either the dash kick or cyclone blade. Stay way from the boss when he gets up -he will usually always use an attack as soon as he's back on his feet, no matter if you're near him or not.

NOTES

In the opening cutscene, Annet states that her adoptive father isn't Earnest, but it was the Meiya High Priest. This appears to be a retcon, as in El Viento, Earnest's bio states he's her adoptive father. I imagine this was changed to make the whole "Annet loves Earnest" plot featured in this game less creepy. Or Wolf Team just forgot their own story.

The green commando enemies are the only ones in the game who seem capable of causing friendly fire -they can hurt their allies. The easiest way to do this is as soon as the level starts, don't move. The first green commando will usually uppercut the first knight. I presume this is a glitch, rather than being intentional.
