Kenshiro is awake, but he's still pretty beat up. Yaman asks what he was doing out in the wastelands with those wolves, so Ken tells him that it was because of these scars he has on his chest. Saya suggests that Ken doesn't want to talk about what happened, so the subject is changed when Ken thanks them for saving him. Yaman says he doesn't need to thank them, but things kind of went wrong when they tried as they all got captured.

Ken sees that they have become slaves and Fugen explains that is what happens to the weak. Kenshiro introduces himself to everyone and Fugen is alerted when he hears his name. However Ken then reels back in pain and passes out again.

The next morning two of Guruma's men are talking about how bored they are and how lying to the customers about their goods doesn't seem to work these days, when someone walks over. Jinia, another slave trader, says that he can't believe that sign is still up and that whilst Guruma's signs are always impressive, the quality of his actual goods are anything but. However a potential customer then walks over and expresses interest in the "wolf killer". He's for sale for either a week's worth of food, or 200 gallons of gasoline.

Jinia walks over and tells the customer to hold on a second, as he's got a much bigger warrior who is stronger and sturdier. He invites the customer over to his shop when Guruma appears and reminds Jinia that interfering with other people's business is prohibited. Jinia is worried that Guruma can't sell his overpriced goods, but Guruma tells him that his shop isn't doing badly enough to need his sympathy. However Jinia has a proposal: since there is such a well-off looking customer here, he wants this "wolf killer" to go up against the warrior he has. That way they can show him who is the strongest and which one is really worth buying. Guruma accepts his challenge.

Later on a lot of people are gathered at Gesso City's stadium to watch the fight. Guruma and Jinia are out first to wave to everyone, but whilst Guruma is all smiles on the outside, he's nervous on the inside. He didn't realise quite how many people were going to come to watch this, and is surprised Jinia managed to organise this thing so quickly.

Even Siska is watching, and Guruma knows that if his man loses, he can kiss goodbye to his shop. Meanwhile Jinia is thinking about the same thing, only he thinks that his man will easily win and put his rival out of business for good. As all of this is going on, nobody has noticed that two people are on the top of Siska's palace.

The two men say that with all of this commotion, the security is now spread out thinly, and it gives them the perfect chance to complete their mission. As they get on with that, the main event in the stadium is about to begin. Guruma thanks everyone for turning up and then points to a gate, as that is where the man known as the wolf killer will make his grand entrance!

However Kenshiro stumbles out and has to be escorted into the arena by two other men. Guruma runs over to him and tells him to pull himself together -if he doesn't win this thing, then his cell mates will be the first to die! Meanwhile Jinia introduces the crowd to his man, the one known as "Gadess the Bear Slayer"!

"...eh?"

"I don't care how many wolves you've killed, I'm going to rip your head off!"

"Ahhhhh!"

Guruma hopes this is a joke, only to find out that Jinia prepared a bear killer to deal with his wolf killer. Siska tells the combatants to select their weapons, but Guruma kneels down to inform the Shogun that due to his warrior's dangerous strength, he will not be using any weapons in this fight. And that he wants him to fight with his handcuffs still on.

Siska thinks he's being reckless, but permits it. Guruma whispers to Ken that if the cuffs are taken off, he'll have no excuse if he loses. If they get left on, he will have a much needed excuse that he needs. He hopes Ken won't hold this against him. Meanwhile, Ken's cell mates are being forced to watch, and nearly everyone believes Kenshiro is about to die. It seems he can only just about stand, but Fugen tells them not to lose hope yet. If this is the Kenshiro he has heard of...

Guruma and Jinia run out of the arena as the fight begins. Gadess picks up a sword and says that he'll kill Kenshiro quickly so he doesn't feel a thing. Siska asks why Ken hasn't picked up a weapon, only to be told that the handcuffs are all he needs. Jinia tells the audience that this is it, and Gadess starts things off by shoulder charging Ken...

...straight into a wall. A terrified Guruma can only watch as his prize fighter seems to have been defeated with just one attack, but as the smoke clears, it is reveald that Kenshiro is still alive. He says that Gadess looks more like a bear-cub killer to him, and that he should try again.

Gadess gets mad and charges, but as he tries to strike his opponent, Ken uses his handcuffs to stop his attack and then hits a pressure point on his head. Nothing seems to happen though, and Guruma and Jinia are left guessing what Ken is trying to do, believing that he might have performed a kind of spell.

Gadess can't get his sword back, so he runs off to get another weapon. Now wielding a spear, he changes towards Kenshiro again. However Ken kicks his sword back at him so it plunges into one of his legs, making him fall forwards. Ken then kicks him in the head...

...and he is defeated. However Kenshiro also falls down seconds later. But as far as Guruma is concerned, it was a good enough performance to let him have the victory, as the crowd goes wild. Danne and Amo are also happy, and knew Kenshiro was really incredible in terms of strength. Meanwhile Fugen says that what happened was just what he suspected.

Meanwhile the two guys have gotten into Siska's control room. The place happens to be guarded with a laser alarm system -something one of them is surprised to see, as they didn't think something this technical could exist after the war. This is despite said person having a cool helmet which lets them actually see said lasers, but whatever. The men get past the lasers and access Siska's computer. They brings up lots of video camera footage of people in cells. One of them explains to his friend that these people are hostages stored at the bottom of the building. Siska has a detonator that can blow them all up, which is one of the reasons he rules this place. But there is also meant to be another remote. They intend to get both of them. The guy with the spiky teeth suggests they take over this place for themselves, but the other one says no.

Later on in the evening, a lot of people have crowded around Guruma's shop, but he has to tell them that if they don't intend to buy anything, they need to go away. As the crowd departs, Guruma is happy with his updated sign: "Bear Slayer Killer Wolf Killer". The problem he has now is that would-be buyer may be put off with Kenshiro's strength, as they may feel that they cannot control him. Guruma is sure that with his business skills he should be able to convince customers one way or the other.

He heads to the front of his shop when Ken tells him something. If they are to be sold, then Ken demands that he is sold with everyone else in this cell as a set. Also, this cell is uncomfortable, so he wants himself and everyone else moving to a better one. Guruma isn't sure about that, but he then watches Ken break his handcuffs without effort, so he says that he'll get right on it. However as he walks away he moans about how high risk this business venture is being. Meanwhile, the family thank Kenshiro, but Fugen warns that this won't change anything. Ken asks what he means by that.

Fugen explains that if this family gets away from here, they will just get caught again later and sold as slaves again. Doesn't Ken think that his temporary kindness in helping them here is more like selfishness? He then asks why he didn't kill Gadess. Ken says that he couldn't kill him, so he had no reason to end his life. Fugen says that that was an extremely selfish thing to do. Gadess may not have been able to kill Kenshiro, but as soon as he gets away from here, he'll kill anyone else without a hint of remorse. The next ones he kills could be this family. Kenshiro asks what he should do.

Fugen smiles and says that Kenshiro is naive. He tells him to look at Amo, who is praying, and he asks him what she could be praying for. Ken says he doesn't know. Fugen tells him that she is praying for a savior to appear to restore order in this age. A savior is someone who, despite being burdened with a great sadness, would never run away from their destiny.

Meanwhile, a large army has gathered behind a man known as Jugai. The two men who infiltrated Siska's palace appear and say that their preparations are complete, they can attack Gesso City soon. They also present their master with one of the remotes that could set off the explosives. Jugai says very well, but as he turns around...

...he says that one of the green guys reeks of bloodlust and evil intent. It happens to be the one who wanted to take over Gesso City for himself earlier. Jugai challenges this man, telling him to come and kill him now, if he can. The man says he could never do this, but Jugai says that there are no allies or enemies in this world, there are only corpses -and it is very easy for him to tell the difference. This angers the man, who finally reveals a blade weapon. He leaps at him, but...

...Jugai swipes his arms, using a move which slices the betrayer into pieces. Jugai is a master of Nanto Koshu Ken, which is the same style Shin uses.

Jugai tells his pet eagle to have what he wants of the corpse, and then tells his men that they'll move out now. Soon Gesso City is surrounded.

Word soon spreads that the city is about to be attacked, and Siska's army is put on full alert. Siska is informed what is going on and tells his men to do what they do when they usually get "invaded" -send out some of the younger slaves with food and water, and offer them to the barbarians. That is exactly what is done and one of Siska's troops is sent out with a white flag and a few slaves. He tells Jugai and his army to take these slaves, and to leave this place immediately.

Jugai just points towards him and a volley of arrows are launched, killing everyone who was sent out. Siska has seen everything and realises that unlike the previous invaders, these guys are serious!
