Raijin Comics
-From Rage Quitter 87's Fist of the North Star site
Raijin Comics is the name of a magazine published by Gutsoon! Entertainment between 2002 and 2004. The magazine featured various manga strips, including City Hunter, Slam Dunk and Baki the Grappler. However for Fist of the North Star fans Raijin released several volumes of both Fist of the North Star and Fist of the Blue Sky. For the original manga, volumes were published under the name of Fist of the North Star: Master Edition, which marked the second time a company had published the Fist of the North Star manga, following on from Viz. For Fist of the Blue Sky, some parts of the manga were featured in the magazine, and the company also released several volumes of it.
The Raijin Comics magazine never really seemed to see much success and in less than two years it was cancelled. Actually Gutsoon! Entertainment seemed to disappear from this world completely, even though the Fist of the North Star Master Edition volumes were apparently selling well enough (a 10th volume was advertised but never released). Not only did the Master Editions feature colored art, but they also kept the right to left format of the original Japanese version. Each volume usually had some bonus pages, including character profiles and original artwork. The Fist of the Blue Sky volumes have black and white art.
