In the promo, there are a few differences with this part of main street's second stage. Firstly, the scores have 7 digits, in the final, they have 8. The font for the lives counter is colored yellow for both players, in the final it's colored white. The promo also has Lucia's name spelt as "Rucia". Fat Jack has a different sprite in the promo. The door to the bar is already broken in the promo, in the final it's shut, and has to be broken open by throwing an enemy over it.

Inside the bar, a picture of Guile from Street Fighter II can be seen on the wall in the promo, which was cut from the final game. The promo also has lights on the walls, which can't be seen in the final. The plant pot's sprite was also changed. Interestingly, when Lucia grabs Billy, her sprite changes! Her jacket vanishes, she gains elbow pads and a single knee pad, and there are some big differences with her head. This happens again later on in the promo, when she uses her super move. It seems at this point, Capcom were in the middle of updating her sprite, and hadn't fully finished yet.

The promo's character select has a few differences. The height and weight are in different formats, and the character's names are missing. Guy has a slightly different expression, and you can see the top of his head, unlike in the final.

Lucia has a completely different portrait in the promo. As noted above, Capcom must have been updating Lucia's design and sprites, and hadn't got everything finished yet.

Dean's portrait is also entirely different in the promo. Most noticeably, he has a cybernetic arm! He's also wearing a jacket, and has blue colored hair. This is also his only appearance in the promo.

In the promo, the part showing the Scrap Yard's boss fight has different building sprites in the background. Caine is also spelt "Kein". When Haggar uses his super move in the promo, Guy gets frozen in place. However, later on, when he uses it again when Lucia is the second player, she is still able to move.

In the promo, the part showing the China Town rooftop stage also has a few differences, mainly with the background. There are some color differences, plus there are some signs to the right that were removed and replaced in the final version. One of the signs to the upper left also reads "HAIT", this was changed to "HTIA" in the final. The promo has May's name spelt as "Mey". Fat Jack's life bar icon is also different.
