Final Fight One has several differences between versions of the game. Some of the edits made to it were also present in the Super Nintendo version, although some were not changed. All changes made to the American version were also made to the European version, aside from the title screen one noted below.

Each regional variant of the game has a different color for the title screen's background. Japan has purple, America has blue and Europe has yellow. There Japanese version also requires you to "PRESS START BUTTON" whilst the others just have "PRESS START".

The menus are slightly different between versions.

In the options menu, the Japanese has a "SUPERHARD" setting, something missing from the American version. However, the American version instead has a "VERY EASY" setting, which is not in the Japanese version.

Street Fighter Zero is known as Street Fighter Alpha in America, so this means that the select screen and life bars for the extra characters are slightly different between versions.

When you hit someone with a normal attack in any version, you get a small explosion effect. However, in the Japanese version, when you hit an enemy with a weapon, you will see a little blood squirt, like in the arcade game. This was dropped from the American version, and instead you just have the explosion effect again.

The Japanese version has Poison and Roxy, but the American version has Billy and Sid. Despite this, Poison and Roxy's sprites are still in the American version, and their KO screams can be heard in the sound test.

In the Japanese version, the "OH! MY GOD" line was kept for the first bonus game. In the American version, it was changed to "OH! MY CAR".

In the West Side level, the sign outside the door is different depending on the version. The Japanese version has "BAR", whilst the American version has "CLUB".
