The final round takes place in a Neo Ghost fortress.

 

Inside a base, move right and you'll come across a few ninjas.

When you see a strange looking wall, drop down. There will be a single ninja down at the bottom, kill him and then collect the large life item. Keep going left to finish this stage.

When the next stage starts, you'll drop down onto a platform. There are only a few grenade-throwing soldiers in this room, but they are easily avoided. All you need to do here is keep dropping down.

The next stage is set in a different area of the base, and you need to work your way up to the top. There are barely any enemies around, but there are several small platforms you can use.

When you see a soldier, get up to where he is and kill him. Then just jump to finish this stage.

The next stage is simply a case of heading right. There are several soldiers to kill, a few of them placed in the air.

There is also a ninja enemy lurking around the top of the room. Head as far right as possible to finish the stage.

The boss of this round is Shadow Master. Unlike most of the other bosses in this prototype, he'll just stay perfectly still. However there is a way to view his completed animation frames: just press up or down on player 1's controller.

Also, unlike the previous two boss rooms in this prototype, Shadow Master's background has at least been started, and it looks like some kind of chamber. Perhaps Shadow Master would smash out of this in the original version of the game. Anyway, run past Shadow Master to complete the round. Surprisingly, there is an end sequence in place -as the base burns, Joe and Naoko watch from a cliff. Images of the round clear arts will then be shown, and then the image of the burning base will come back.
