Final
These screens are from a preview in issue 39 of Electronic Gaming Monthly. The preview screens show that originally, in the vs mode, each player would have a score above their life bar, and the high score above the timer. The final version removes all of these things, and instead shows how many times a player has won.

Character names are also missing in the preview, only the portrait icons are there.

This screen shows the ice pillar smash bonus game, but the HUD is almost completely missing, only the credit counters are shown. The final version also seems to add an extra slab of ice.

The bottle break bonus game is missing the HUD as well.

Final
The preview shot for the haow-ken bonus game is also missing the HUD.

According to the text, it sounds like that you couldn't choose the bonus game you wanted to attempt like you can in the final version. The ice pillar smash was first, the bottle break was second and finally haow-ken was first. However, the text has no mention of the super fireball technique -it states you must "repeatedly damage a target". Perhaps these bonus games were originally a way of just earning bonus points?

It seems that originally, Robert's fireball was going to be blue, the same color as Ryo's. It was changed to orange & yellow for the final game.

Similar to the above, Todo's kasane ate move is shown as having a blue sprite in the preview, it was changed to yellow for the final game.
