A common misunderstanding with this game is that the soundtrack was done by Yuzo Koshiro, who did the score for Revenge of Shinobi. It wasn't, but personally I think the music in this is the best of any Shinobi game. For more music from this game, click here.

These are from the Xbox 360 version (which features looping music) and are from the Japanese soundtrack. The deal with this game is that Sonic can travel to different time zones of each level, and there is different music for each one. The American version had an almost completely different soundtrack which I don't like as much, but including a few tracks I did like at the bottom.

The tracks below are from, I believe, the arcade version. They sound the best to me anyway.

Bravely Folk Song
-Cervantes theme

Epic Calling! -Character select

Future Dancin' -Taki theme

Kkaduri -Seung Mina theme

Known as Lylat Wars in Europe.

Area 6

Boss theme #3

Good Fighter -Ryu & Ken theme

Jazzy NYC Street -Sean theme

Jazzy NYC Underground -Alex theme

The Judgement Day -Gill theme

Leave alone -Dudley theme

Sharp Eyes -Ibuki theme

Tomboy -Elena theme

This remixed all of the tunes fromt the previous game and in most cases not for the better. But anyway:

Crowded Street Dum & Bass mix -Yang theme

Good Fighter -Ryu theme

Jazzy NYC NY House Mix
-Alex theme

Funky Bay -Ken theme

San Paulo -Sean theme

Sharp Eyes Piano Melo Version -Ibuki theme

These remixes were originally used in the Dreamcast version of the game. For those who don't know, the music changes between rounds, hence why the tracks suddenly change a few times.

Crazy Chilli Dog -Urien theme

Jazzy NYC '99 -Alex & Ken theme

Killing Moon -Akuma theme

Snowland -Necro & Twelve theme

You Blow My Mind -Dudley theme

Taken from the Playstation version of the game, which I think has better music than the arcade version.

Precious Heart -Sakura theme

Sakura Mankai -Hokuto & Kairi theme

Strange Sunset -Allen & Guile theme

Spinning Bird -Chun Li theme

Stronger
-Garuda & Evil Ryu theme

Again, these were taken from the Playstation version of the game.

Fighting in the Street -Level 1 theme

Keep the Groovin'

Moon Beach -Level 3 theme

Violent Breathing

One of the best Mega Drive soundtracks ever here folks. Heck, one of the best video game soundtracks period.

Dreamer -Level 3-1 theme

Expander -Level 7-2 theme

Go Straight -Level 1-1 theme

In the Bar -Level 1-2 theme

Slow Moon -Level 5-1 theme
Remix of Keep the Groovin' from the first game.

S.O.R. Super Mix -Level 8 theme
Remix of Last Soul from the first game.

Under Logic -Level 4-1 theme

Wave 131 -Level 6-1 theme

Yeah, the music on this isn't a patch on what was made for the first two games, but not all of it is complete trash.

Fuze -First used in level 1-1

Happy Paradise -Level 3-1 theme

Random Cross -3-3 theme

I liked the Mega Drive version's tracks, but the arcade version's are even better, so I've used those:

Outride a Crisis

Sprinter

This is one of the poorer R-Type games to play, but one of the best to listen to -it has the strongest line up of tunes in the series.

A Submerging Titan -Level 4 theme

As Wet as a Fish -Level 3 theme

Counter Attack '91 -Level 2 theme
This was originally in R-Type II.

Dream of a Labyrinth
-Level 5 theme

Solo Sortie -Level 1 theme
