A long time ago, on the planet Cybertron, life existed. Intelligent robots who could think and feel: Transformers. These robots were divided into two factions: the peace-loving heroic Cybertrons, and the brutal and violent Destrons. The Destron's Emperor of Destruction, Megatron, launched an unilateral attack on the Cybertrons. The Cybertrons, led by Convoy, formed a battle unit, and both sides entered into a war.

The war exhausted Cybertron's once rich sources of energy. Convoy and some Cybertrons blasted off into space to search for new sources of energy. But they were followed by the Destrons, who boarded the Cybertron's ship. The Transformers ended crashing onto planet Earth, where it struck a volcano.

Four million years later, the volcano erupted. This caused the ship to reactivate, and it revived a Destron called Skywarp first. Soon, all of the Destrons were revived, and given new transformation modes based on Earth vehicles. Megatron immediately sought to take the Earth's energy. The Cybertrons were also revived, and made it their mission to stop the Destrons.

The Destrons would try to take energy from wherever they could, and the Cybertrons did their best to stop them. A turning point in the war would be the Buildrons. These Destron soldiers could combine into Devastor!

In an out of the way location, the Cybertrons have built a secret factory. Under the command of Ultra Magnus, Project Scramble City is underway, to stop the Destron's increasing power. Scramble City is a strategic base to give birth to combiner warriors who would be far stronger than Devastor. The base can transform into a mobile fortress, and has many functions, making it the Cybertron's most powerful weapon.

At the Destron's underwater base, Soundwave reports to Megatron. Megatron learns of a change in the magnetic field at a certain point, and tells Soundwave to have his cassettes check it out. Soundwave deploys Jaguar, Ratbat and Condor, who all leave the base.

They arrive at the point, and immediately detect an extreme amount of energy waves emanating from underground. As they move down, Broadcast starts firing at them, and sends out two of his own cassettes: Steeljaw and Amhorn. To counter the Destron's spying activities, the Cybertron's have setup their own cassette bot unit. Amhorn starts fighting with Jaguar...

...whilst Condor and Steeljaw fight each other. As this is going on, Ratbat manages to get inside the base, and discovers Scramble City.

Megatron wants to know what the Cybertron's are building in that secret factory, and Soundwave says it's a fortress called Scramble City -he thinks it's a battle fortress. Megatron decides to dispatch Devastor at once to demolish it. Starscream then appears, and says he, Thundercracker and Skywarp will depart to the factory's location immediately.

As the Destron jets take off, the Buildrons move out. They are picked up on radar by Convoy, who realizes that the Destrons are heading towards the secret factory.

He tells the other Cybertrons that they must not let the Destrons set one foot inside the factory. The Cybertrons transform and roll out, and are soon under fire from the Destrons. Starscream tells Convoy that before they destroy the factory, they'll terminate all Cybertrons!

Convoy thinks that, as always, Starscream is all talk. The two sides continue firing at each other, but Starscream orders the Buildrons to unite and form Devastor. The Buildrons unite.

Devastor picks up a large rock and throws it at the Cybertrons. Convoy fires at him, but his shot does no damage. Devastor then fires back...

...and blows some of the Cybertrons away. The Destrons laugh, and Starscream asks Convoy what's wrong. The battle is being watched by Ultra Magnus, who thinks the Cybertrons will be in grave danger if this keeps up.

He orders for the Airbot squadron to take off. Comprised of state of the art jets, the Airbot squadron are a new Cybertron troop, who have speed greater the mach. The Airbots start firing at the Destrons...

...and also shoot down Devastor. The other Cybertrons rush forward and open fire, as the Airbots transform and land.

The Destrons return fire, but Starscream orders a retreat. As they get back to their base, Megatron is annoyed that Starscream failed, and calls him a fool. Starscream asks for forgiveness, but Megatron doesn't want to see his face anymore.

Starscream vows that next time, he'll shoot down those Airbots. But Megatron tells him to forget it, at he'll entrust this to the Stuntrons. The Stuntrons are his new Destron warriors, and he contacts them. He tells them that for the glory of the Destrons, he wants them to pulverize the Airbots and destroy Scramble City.

The Stuntrons transform and move out. The Stuntrons were built as counterparts to the Airbots, and are a merciless teams of sports cars and a truck. Meanwhile, Convoy orders for the Cybertrons and Airbots to mobilize, so they head out.

The Airbots find the Stuntrons first, and open fire on them. Convoy and the other Cybertrons arrive, and Convoy tells everyone to open fire. The Stuntrons transform and fire back.

Some of the Airbots get shot down, and the battle shifts to the ground. Convoy orders the Airbots to use scramble power, and the team merge into the super robot, Superion! Other than the torso, the remaining four Airbots can form either the arms of legs, and combine anywhere left or right using their scramble power!

The Stuntrons fire at Superion, but to no effect. Superion kicks the entire team down. Megatron orders them to merge into Menasor.

The Stuntrons combine into Menasor, who knocks Superion down. Superion breaks apart and then recombines, this time using the power form.

But the Stuntrons do the exact same thing, and recombine into Menasor in a new configuration. The two super robots resume fighting, but Menasor manages to throw Superion away. The Airbots try to transform into Superion, this time using the attack form. But due to some confusion between Firebolt and Air Raid, Firebolt ends up trying to attach to the wrong leg, and crashes.

Menasor launches Wildrider, who attaches to Superion's leg. Firebolt then gets shot down by Menasor.

Superion is immobilized, and Menasor takes aim at him. Convoy thinks Superion will be in real trouble if this keeps up, and asks Ultra Magnus if Scramble City still isn't ready to mobilize.

Ultra Magnus says the final checks still aren't completed, so Convoy tells him to launch as soon as the checks are completed. As Menasor continues to attack Superion, Firebolt thinks the Airbots are going to be taken out because of him. Convoy decides to attack at close range.

He fires a blast which hits Wildrider, causing him to break off. Firebolt quickly transforms and attaches to Superion, and Superion then kicks Menasor away.

Menasor tries to get back up, but Superion punches him back down. However, the Destron's most powerful armored division, the Combatrons, arrive. They start firing at the Cybertrons.

The Combatrons transform and unite into Bruticus. Bruticus helps Menasor back up.

At the factory, the checks are completed. Ultra Magnus orders for Scramble City to mobilize, and it is moved upwards on a platform. It transforms into the mobile battle platform mode, turning it into a super futuristic city which the Cybertrons have built using the best of their technology. Ultra Magnus then orders for the Protectobots to be sent out.

The Protectobots are made up of specialized emergency vehicles, and are the Cybertron's latest allies. As they move out, so does Scramble City. Back at the battle, Menasor holds down Superion, as Bruticus attacks him.

The Airbots have to separate, but as Menasor and Bruticus loom over the other Cybertrons, the Protectobots arrive. They transform and unite into Guardian. But then, Scramble City arrives...

...and transforms into the super colossal robot, Metroflex! Metroflex fires a single shot which blows Bruticus and Menasor away. The Cybertrons cheer for Metroflex.

Convoy thanks Ultra Magnus, but Ultra Magnus is just glad they made it in time. Convoy thinks they've truly done an excellent job, and then thanks Metroflex himself. But then, there is an explosion out at sea. At the water splits, a gigantic Destron appears.

Dinosaurer has appeared, and Convoy wonders if this is a new Destron. Megatron says this is Dinosaurer, which was built with the combined effort of his Destron army's power! He asks Convoy if this astounds him.

Dinosaurer's eyes glow, and he then roars. The Destron's super colossal robot, Dinosaurer, versus the Cybertron's super colossal robot, Metroflex! As Metroflex's eyes glow, a new battle is about to begin...
