Ryu's quest to prove his innocence took him and Ken to the heart of the Ashura drug cartel. Together, their fists of fury laid waste to the Ashura and its leader, the sadistic Mr. Zochi. Dorai and the Bangkok police fought their way through the Ashura's perimeter, only to find that Ken and Ryu had everything in hand.

"The beasts are coming. Two beasts... violent... from across the ocean... coming here..."

Ryu and Ken have arrived in India. Ryu wonders what this Dhalsim is going to be like, but Ken suddenly stops. He says the map is showing the wharf as being right here, but Ryu says they need to find it so they can find a boat. Ken says to try this way, and leads Ryu down some streets. Ryu asks if he's sure he's not getting them more lost.

Some kids run past them, but one falls over. Ryu cleans his face up, and then lets him run off.

But they then hear someone scream, and run towards where the sound came from. At a hospital, a group of thugs tell the villagers to clear away from here, and then demand for Dr. Hanna to get out here. When she doesn't respond, they start smashing the place up.

Hanna then walks out, and tells them to stop this now. She asks if they have anything better to do then than rip apart the only free source of healing for the poor. The lead thug says he and his friends are dedicated to keeping this town clean, and the first garbage they're removing is her. Hanna calls them monsters, and says they're going to ruin this, but the thug asks her why she doesn't quit this volunteer gig, and head back to the USA -this is no place for a pretty girl. She asks him what he hopes to gain, as her hospital isn't simply going to go away. The thug says he's pretty sure it'll go down in no time, they can see to that.

The gang start smashing the place up again. One of the villagers asks them why they are doing this, as this hospital has saved the lives of so many of their friends and neighbors. One guy tells him to shut up, and get out of the way. The villager asks them to leave this hospital, and go. The guy does to attack him.

"The beasts... are mad."

The guy suddenly drops to the ground, having being struck from behind. Ken and Ryu have arrived, and quickly take down the gang.

The gang say they'll be back, and leave. The man observing says he does not believe that these beasts are evil.

Meanwhile, Hanna takes Ryu and Ken inside, and apologizes for everything being so dirty in here. Ryu says he's never seen a hospital in a shack before, but Hanna says she isn't too embarrassed. As they can see, her hospital has a ways to go before it's fully functional. Ken asks about those men they fought, and why did they want to ruin her operation. Hanna says not to worry about them, they've been trying to run her off for months. She's not easily frightened, but she wishes they'd give up.

They then hear a villager crying out, so she takes Ryu and Ken to the back. There, they see that the ward consists of just a couple of bunk beds. Hanna tells the villager that his medicine should be coming in tomorrow. She takes Ken and Ryu outside, and says it's horrible -there are so many sick people in this city. Ken says she has a tough job, but Hanna says this is her life. If she wasn't helping these people, they'd have nobody to turn to. Ryu says he still doesn't get why those men would make so much trouble for someone who is only here to help.

Hanna explains that the landlord who owns this property wants to build a business park on it. Her hospital is standing in the way of progress, or so she's told. They've been trying to drive the poor residents out of this part of town, and she thinks their strategy is that if they make her leave, the poor will leave also. Ken says that means they won't be giving up until she leaves, but Hanna says she can fight her own fights. She has been here for 2 years now, and is determined to make things better for the poor. She won't give up now, as she has a 5 year lease on this land, and she'll make every minute count. She thinks if she stays strong, those guys will have to find another spot. It's the people who live here who give her the strength to press on. Ken thinks she's brave, but she says really she's too stubborn for her own good.

Ken promises her that after today, those guys will never mess with her again -he'll see to that himself. Hanna asks why they happen to be passing through town, and Ryu says they're on their way to a village. But they need to find the river, so they can find a ride. Hanna says she'd be happy to take them to the wharf. Meanwhile, Ken makes a phone call.

Later on, Hanna tells Ryu and Ken that the village they're looking for is off a tributary about 3 miles up river. Hanna hopes they find the person they are looking for, and Ken tells her to keep up the good work -they'll stop by on their way back to see how things are going with the hospital. Ryu asks if she's sure she'll be alright, and she tells them they know she will -does she look like a helpless little girl? Ken says she looks anything but that. He and Ryu then leave via boat. Ryu thinks Dr. Hanna is quite a lady, and Ken says she deserves all the help she can get. Ryu says he's still worried about the mob, but Ken says he made a phone call that'll take those jerks off her back for good.

Hanna arrives back at the hospital, only to find three guys in suits standing outside. She tells them to get away from here, as if their goons didn't scare her away from here, what makes them think a bunch of sleazy lawyer types will do it? One of the guys explains he's with the Indian division of the Masters Corporation, and he's been sent to look at her hospital. He's been made aware of what she's being doing, and says they are prepared to fully fund her efforts. The first thing they'd like to do is buy this land, so they can start building a more modern hospital for all her patients to get the care they require. If she has any questions, she should contact their main office in America. Hanna is a bit surprised.

Meanwhile, Ryu and Ken continue down the river. Ken says they can't take the cruiser much further down this little river, so they'll have to take the skiff. Somewhere beyond these trees they'll find master Dhalsim, who'll give them the key to understanding the hadou technique. The two head off in the smaller boat, and Ken says if they follow this stream a little further, he's pretty sure they'll arrive at the village of Ahichattra. Ryu says that's where Sagat said they'll find master Dhalsim.

They see a little girl, and Ryu asks her if the village of Ahichattra is around here. The girl, Mhenu, points towards the village. Ryu and Ken leave the boat, and follow her.

They arrive in the village, and see it isn't a particularly big place. Mhenu leads them to the structure in the middle, and tells them that master Dhalsim is waiting for them up at the top. Ryu and Ken are surprised at what she just said -they never mentioned anything about master Dhalsim! The two head up to the top, where Dhalsim is waiting for them.

They get to the top, and Dhalsim says that their coming was foretold, even before their birth. Ryu asks how that is possible, and Dhalsim says that the scroll foreknowledge, from the pages of Agastya. Ken says those pages are a legend, written many thousands of years ago by monk Agastya. He saw in a dream every detail of the fate of mankind. Ryu asks Dhalsim if he knows why they've traveled so far to meet with him, and Dhalsim says hadou. But he then tells them to begone, as the mastery of hadou will never again belong to beasts!

Ryu asks what this nonsense is. Dhalsim says that 10 years ago, another beast came, who also searched to learn hadou. He called himself a champion of Muay Thai, and Ryu realizes he's talking about Sagat. Dhalsim says he learned that a beast with an aggressive spirit is unworthy of being brought into hadou mastery. Ken asks Dhalsim what makes him think they're beasts. Dhalsim says they are the type who, when they see their prize, attack and think of nothing beyond their opponent's defeat. For this reason, he calls their methods bestial. Ryu says he made this journey to learn about hadou, and he won't budge until he teaches him -he'll show he has patience. He and Ken sit down, but Dhalsim tells them to do as they please.

Ryu and Ken suddenly see that Dhalsim is gone -he's somehow gotten back down in an instant! Ryu wonders how he did that, and Ken says he gets the impression this will take some time, so maybe they shouldn't bother Dhalsim for a while. Ryu shouts to Dhalsim to walk away if he wants, but they aren't going to give up.

Ryu and Ken setup a tent, and discuss what Dhalsim said earlier. The next morning, the two have breakfast, and Ken tells Ryu he's never seen anyone eat so much for breakfast. Mhenu then walks over, and says she thought they might be hungry from their journey, so she's brought them something to eat. Ken says it smells great, so he and Ryu eat.

The two then head into the village, and befriend everyone there. They also help out with moving crops, and Ryu says they'll just make themselves useful until master Dhalsim changes his mind about them. Dhalsim is watching, and says it seems the beasts are befriending the villagers.

Ryu is showing some kids some moves, but then Dhalsim walks over. He says there's something he wants to show the two of them, and tells them to come with him. He leads them through a thick bit of jungle.

They arrive at a temple, and Dhalsim says this village has one law, which must never be broken. No matter what happens, they must never set foot in the cave of ancients. The villagers keep watch to be certain it remain unentered. Ryu asks why, and Dhalsim says within the cave is a golden treasure, which some men would stop at nothing to get. Ken says someone must have gone after the treasure at some point, but Dhalsim says some of the villagers would ever be foolish enough. The villagers know that within the cave lurks a horrible monster. He tells them under no circumstances will they enter the cave of ancients. He says if they understand this, they can go back to the village. Ryu says if it doesn't have anything to do with hadou, he's not interested.

Later on that night, some men arrive at the cave. They've heard from some village kid that there is treasure here, and they are going to get it. Their guide tells them that there is a weird monk who says the treasure is protected by some terrible monster, but the three men don't care. One of them thinks it's just an old wives tale to keep people away. The boss of the group sends his two underlings into the cave. They head in, and run down a passage.

They see the treasure in a large room -a golden statue, which is surrounded by green flames. The moment the two men see it, something happens. One of them says it's so incredible, and says she has to be his... he'll share her with no one!

He goes to grab it, but as he does, his buddy pulls out a knife. Moments later, outside the cave, the guide screams in horror as...

...one of the men stumbles out, critically wounded. The other man is dead, and he says something about a monster he must kill. The boss asks what he saw in there, but the guy keeps talking about a monster he intends to kill. He then dies from his injuries, and the guide says it's true -there's a creature in the cave! The boss says there's no monster, his two men must have walked into some sort of trap.

He throws the guide a gun, and says they'll go to the village. They'll gather up all the villagers, and see if they can get that treasure out! At the village, Dhalsim is aware of what has been going on. He says these beasts are insane, and mad with greed.

Within the cave of ancients, the golden treasure awaits. Now Ken and Ryu must enter the cave, and face the treasure's guardian. But what sort of monster is it? How can it be fought?
