"This is the first time I've ever flown in a plane."

At an airport, the guy on the plane thinks about how this is the first time he's ever left Japan since he was born. He's here in San Francisco, 10 hours and 40 minutes away by jet. The plane lands, and he walks into the airport. He thinks there's only one person who could make him come all this way: Ken.

In a forest, Somabito is cutting down a tree. He sees someone walking towards him, and tells them to look out! Ryu is the one walking up, and notices the tree falling right over him.

The tree crashes down, but Ryu manages to get out of the way in time. Somabito yells at him -does he need to be told not to stand under a tree when it falls?! Ryu says he's sorry, so Somabito says they'll take a lunch break.

Back in the present, Ryu looks around the airport, and thinks how this is America. A large lady then bumps into him, and he then sees two ladies laughing at him. He thinks back...

Rinko arrives back on Mikunai Island. She runs up to where Somabito, her grandfather, is, and says his lunch is here. She asks where Ryu is, and he tells her. She rushes off and sees Ryu doing some moves next to a tree.

He senses she's there, and asks if it's lunch time already. She goes up to him and asks if all he can think about when she gets back is his bottomless gut! Ryu says that's not true, so she says that's good, because she made his favorite dish today: meatloaf. She tells him to hurry back to the shed, but then remembers something.

She passes him a letter, addressed to him. She asks who'd he know who would send him an airmail letter. Ryu says it's from a good friend of his, who lives in California. Rinko jokingly asks if this friend is one of those tall, tanned beach blondes, but Ryu says his friend is a redhead, and he doesn't wear bikinis.

They go back to where Somabito is, and he tells Ryu it has been a while since they've had lunch outside. Ryu says it's because of all the rain they've had. Rinko comes over with some tea, and notices Ryu still hasn't opened the letter yet. Ryu says he'll get around to it, but when he notices Rinko staring, he decides to open it now. Inside it is a lot of money, and a plane ticket.

Ryu wonders why Ken sent this, and reads the letter. The letter just states for him to come to America. Ryu puts the letter down, and Somabito asks him if he's going. Ryu says he'll think about it, and needs some time. Somabito tells him he thinks he should go. Ryu asks about his work here on the mountain, but Somabito laughs, and says he hardly counts on him as one of his workers.

Somabito knows Ken is the one Ryu trained with. He thinks Ken is beginning to crave some rain. Ryu doesn't get it, so Somabito explains Ken hasn't seen him since they trained together. He says that a tree can't grow if there's no rain, and it won't rain if the tree doesn't grow. He thinks it's time for Ryu to seek the rain also, and tells him not to wait -he should go.

Later on, Ryu prepares to leave. Rinko wants him to write sometime, and he says he will. He thanks Somabito for everything, and says he'll be back as soon as he can. Somabito tells him to enjoy himself, and says everything will be just fine here. Rinko takes off her bracelet, and puts it on Ryu's wrist. Ryu says that belonged to her mother, but she says sometimes he can be such a klutz that he needs a good luck charm. Ryu thanks her, and says he'll wear it always.

Ryu then hops onto a boat, which moves off from the island. As Ryu waves, Rinko says she has a feeling that he'll never return to the island again.

Back in the present, someone calls out to Ryu, and then goes to punch him. Ryu blocks it, but it turns out it's Ken, who tells him he's sorry he had to wait. He tells Ryu it has been a long time, and it looks like he's not too out of shape. Ryu thinks he's a soft city boy, but Ken tells him it sure is good to see him.

As they head out, Ryu is shocked that he's going to get to ride in a limousine. They drive away from the airport, and Ken can't believe its been two years since they last saw each other. Ryu can't believe this huge car -it's big enough to live in! Ken says it's one of his dad's. They arrive at Ken's place, and Ryu says this is one really big park. Ken says this is their front yard, and it's about a 20 minute drive to the house!

They arrive at the house, where all of the staff are waiting outside. Ken gets out, and everyone welcomes him back. He says he'd like to introduce his best friend: Ryu. He says that Ryu came all the way from Japan, and it's his first time in America, so he wants them to take good care of him. As they head inside, Ryu thinks this place is incredible, it's like a castle! Ken says it's his father's style. They then see a dog, Attila, waiting at the top of the stairs.

Ryu beckons Attila to come down, so he does, and rams into him. But instead of attacking him, he starts licking his face.

They head upstairs, and Ken says that's the first time he's seen Attila be friendly to a guest. Ryu then notices some antique battle armor, and Ken says his father is into Japanese culture. Ryu recalls that Ken's mother is Japanese. Ken says his parents are at Washington DC today, for the presidential birthday party, but they'll fly back as soon as it's over with. Ken then takes Ryu into his room. Ryu thinks you need a map to get around this place!

He then notices all of the trophies, and sees Ken has won a few tournaments. Ken says it's no big deal, as there's never any competition. He doesn't come up against guys like him. He tells Ryu to forget that stuff, as there's something out back he wants him to see.

They go outside, and Ryu asks Ken what he wanted to show him. Ken leads Ryu to a dojo, and Ryu says it's unbelievable -this is a perfect replica of the dojo where they first met and trained together! It even has the sign:

They go inside, and Ryu thinks about the past. He says it's all exactly the same, just like when they were kids. Ken throws his gi over to him, and says there's only one thing missing from here: a good challenge. He asks Ryu for a round.

The two start sparring, and Ken says it doesn't look like Ryu missed much practice back home. Ryu tells him easy living is making him soft, and he then leaps at him. As he pins Ken down, he tells him to give up. Ken rolls him over and then pulls his pants down, promoting Ryu to yell at him. Ken laughs.

Ken's parents then arrive back home. They meet Ken and Ryu, and a huge feast is prepared. Ken's father tells Ryu to stay as long as he'd like. His mother hopes he'll enjoy the dinner, and Ryu says he knows he will. As he starts eating everything he can, he tells Ken this is good stuff -he ought to be eating it too!

Later on, Ken thinks his parents think Ryu is the best thing since toilet paper. Ryu says he likes them a lot too, but Ken then says they'll head out. Ryu wonders where they're going, and Ken says he show him his San Francisco, after dark. They ride out together on a motorbike, and hit the streets.

As they do, a car with several people in it appears, and tells them to get over -the air force is coming through! As they pass, one of them refers to Ryu and Ken as ladies, and asks if they go to church. They then drive off to a certain place:

Ken and Ryu follow them, and watch them enter. Ryu says this place is a bar, they aren't old enough. They enter anyway, and Ken sees the air force guys at some of the tables.

Before they can enter any further, the bouncer gets in their way. He asks them what they're doing out on a school night, and tells them to go on home. Ken laughs, and says they get this a lot. He explains that they look underage, but they are both 21. The bouncer thinks that's whack, and wants to see some ID. Ken bribes him with some money, and the bouncer says they do have the right ID. Ken and Ryu are allowed in, but Ryu asks what they're doing here. Ken says tonight is there reunion, and to mark the event, they're going to celebrate in the spirit of the occasion. He goes up to the air force guys, and one of them asks what he wants. He says he wants a word with the lady.

He talks to one of them, and she then gets up and follows him to the bar. Ken tells Ryu to live and learn. Some other guys in the bar say to look at that -the American air force got shot down by a kid.

One of the air force guys gets up, and tells Lola to get back here. Ken says the lady prefers their company to that of some fly boys with bad haircuts. The air force guys all get up and surround Ken and Ryu, and says they'll mess Ken's face up.

The first guy charges, but Ken avoids his punch, and then elbows him in the face, before kicking him. Ken welcomes Ryuto his first party in America. Another guy attacks Ken...

...but Ken kicks him down. The rest of the air force guys attack, but Ken and Ryu promptly defeat them all.

As Ryu and Ken walk back to the bar, Ken says they brought back old memories. Ryu thinks Ken is never going to change. Just then, someone opens the door...

A man with flat-topped hair approaches Ryu and Ken. He's a cut above most other men, and he's got guts. His name is Guile. He easily dodges Ryu's kicks, his speed matches that of his opponent. He goes up against Ryu and Ken, but who will win the standoff? Watch the next episode of Street Fighter II V: The King of the Air Force - An Explosion of Menacing Military Combat.
