Ken and Fei Long are under attack from several triad members. Fei long says what he likes about them is the way they go splat when they smash into a wall, as he jump kicks one of them. More of them surround him and Ken, but Ken thinks that the quality of these enforcers sure has gone down.

Ken uses his hurricane kick to blow a couple of them away, but even more show up, and they're armed with guns. They start firing, so the two run off and take cover.

Fei Long says that the triad wants to destroy them for freeing their slaves, but they won't succeed so long as he's still breathing. He tells Ken that he will draw their fire, whilst he is to get out of here. Fei Long runs and gets shot at, but Ken suddenly tackles him and says he's not letting him hog all the glory.

Just then things get a lot worse when a helicopter appears. It starts firing at them, and Ken jumps up and gets shot, but he manages to throw out a hadouken. The fireball hits the helicopter and destroys it.

The helicopter crashes and explodes, as Fei Long catches Ken and moves him to safety. The remaining triad members get blown away by the helicopter's explosion, as Fei Long tells Ken to hang in there. But Ken says it's over, and it's Fei Long's fight now. As Ken succumbs to his injuries, Fei Long says he will avenge him, and swears he will not have died in vain. And then he yells out cut, and print -that was great!

It was all a scene for the new movie Fei Long is making. He and Ken jump down, and he thanks Ken for using his chi powers, as they could never have afforded a fireball special effect without him. On their tight budget, they need to watch every penny. Ken is cool with it, but he wishes he didn't have to be killed off so early.

But it does give him time for other things, as he says hi to a bunch of women. Ryu walks in and Ken tells him how cool he is. Ryu says he was good, but his chi powers are special, he shouldn't waste them on such a trivial matter.

Ken tells him that there's plenty more fireballs where they came from, and goes off with the ladies. Ryu asks Fei Long if it's wise for him to make a movie about his problems with the triad. Fei Long says that Wo Fat must be stopped, and this movie will expose his crimes to the world. It will also raise enough money to fight his corruption in Hong Kong. Ryu thinks that's a noble desire, if perhaps a foolish one.

Ryu suddenly sees something and tells Fei Long to get down. As they hit the floor, a laser blast hits part of the set behind them, but it was clearly aimed for Fei Long's head. Fei Long shouts that he said cut, but Ryu tells him whoever this guy is, he's not an actor. Fei Long realizes the guy must be a real triad enforcer, and heads after him.

Nearby, Ken is talking to the ladies and hears the sound of gunfire, but thinks it's just a scene they're shooting without him and ignores it. Meanwhile Fei Long and Ryu jump up to where the triad enforcer is, who keeps shooting at them. Fei Long leaps out of the way of the shots, and uses his improved shien kyaku -which he can now create projectiles with.

The projectile hits the enforcer, knocking his gun out of his hands. He tries to escape, but Ryu performs a dragon punch on him, which knocks him over the railing. He hits some air bags below.

Fei Long confronts the guy and tells him that he should tell his triad buddies that Fei Long is after them -and nothing can stop him! The enforcer is taken away by the police, but he tells Fei Long to not be so certain about that -no one can evade the triad's long reach, even in Hollywood. As he is lead out, another man called A.B. Jones walks in. He tells Fei Long that he's from the Completion Bond company, and they insure his motion picture.

He looks around and says that they agreed to insure a movie, not a private vendetta. He sees some of the damage and says these sets are totally destroyed, and that's not good. He's come here to tell him that they are no longer supporting the movie, which means Fei Long is no longer insured. He passes him a letter confirming this, as Fei Long asks what he means.

Jones tells him he means his insurance is cancelled -there will be no movie. He tells the production crew that the movie is cancelled, so they can go home. As he leaves, Ken walks in, excited to tell them about this date he has with a gorgeous babe. He then notices everyone walking off and wonders what's going on, but Ryu explains that they've been shut down, so there won't be any movie. Fei Long says that his career is finished, and Wo Fat will continue to exploit the weak and the helpless. Later on the three drive out of the studio. Fei Long says he's lost everything, as now he has no money, and no movie.

He says he'll never be able to stop Wo Fat, and asks Ryu how many girls like his cousin Sachi will become slaves because he can no longer battle the forces of the triad. Ryu tells him that if it weren't for him, they never would have saved Sachi. He asks him what it would take to finish his picture. Fei Long says it would take a new group of investors, and seeing how difficult it was to find the first group of investors, he doesn't see how they can find funding for tomorrow. If they don't, the sets will be torn down, but none of them have those kind of resources. However Ryu says one of them does have those kind of financial connections, and pats Ken's shoulder.

Ken stops the car and says no way -he's told him before, no one is ever supposed to know. Fei Long asks no one is supposed to know what, as Ryu tells Ken that they owe Fei Long a debt of honor. Ken hates it when Ryu brings up that honor stuff, but decides to see if he can find him. He picks up a mobile phone, as Fei Long wonders who it is he's trying to find.

Later on, the group head to a certain location, where the mystery man is waiting. Ken sees the chauffeur and asks where he is, and the chauffeur tells him he has been waiting for him... he has been waiting for a long time. Nearby, a man is waiting.

Fei Long asks who this mystery man is, and why is Ken so afraid of seeing him? Ryu explains that the man is the fifth richest man in the world, Danten Masters -who is also Ken's father. Danten tells his son that its been a long time, and he thought he wanted nothing to do with him. Ken reminds him that he called about a movie deal -he's agreed that they wouldn't talk about their relationship.

Danten says he heard his proposal, and agrees that a Fei Long kung fu movie can still bring in money, so he'll invest. However there is one condition: as six million dollars is a big investment, he needs someone to look out for his interests, and keeping an eye on the production. He wants Ken to do this, but Ken says whatever. Danten says he means it -Ken has to be responsible this time, so no quitting in the middle of the project and no getting distracted by some trivial pursuit.

Ken tells him he always thought whatever he did was trivial, and he always expected for him to be like him -that's why he had to leave in the first place. Danten tells him that he came to him about this, and if he can't take it seriously... Ken decides to go along with his father's request, and tells him he will watch out for his investment. He tells him to cut the cheque, which Danten does, but reminds Ken that he is holding him responsible if anything goes wrong. Ken tells him to trust him, he can do it! Nearby, one of the film crew has been listening in, and calls Wo Fat about it. He tells him that Fei Long's movie is back in production.

In Hong Kong, Wo Fat says he already knows -he has more than one agent on the movie set. The next day, in Beverly Hills, Ken is working on the movie script when Ryu comes over. He tells Ryu that this writing stuff is harder than it looks, but Ryu reminds him that they're supposed to join Guile soon in San Francisco. Ken remembers they have a Street Fighter mission there, but then says he's kind of busy. He asks if Guile could get someone else to help him, but Ryu reminds him that they gave their word. He tells Ken to listen to him, but Ken gets annoyed. He tells Ryu he's just like his father, always going on about commitments and responsibilities. But now he feels that it's time for him to look out for number 1. Ryu gets up and tells him that's what he does best.

The movie resumes production, and a scene with Yuen Lo is filmed. As she leads some former slaves out, she gets attacked by several triad enforcers. But then Fei Long appears and fights them off.

Yuen Lo tells Fei Long she will battle at her love's side, but he tells her she must protect the girls. He then calls out cut, and says that was perfect. He tells Yuen Lo that she was great, and she tells him she loved working with him. Just then, Ken walks up, with some new pages for the script. Fei Long tells him it's about time he got here, as they need to shoot some retakes for Ken's death scene.

The retake begins filming, and Fei Long tells Ken to hang in there, he can make it. Ken says it's true -he can feel life returning to him! He feels stronger... he's more powerful than ever! Fei Long is very confused to see Ken get up, and emit chi from his fists. Ken says that a true warrior can never die before the battle's end, so let the triad beware: they face two of them now! Fe i Long orders for filming to stop, and asks Ken what is he doing -he's supposed to die! Ken says not any more, as he's re-written the scene, and it's better this way. Fei Long tells him that he can't change the script. He's the writer, and the director. But Ken says it's his father's money that's paying for this, so that makes him the producer. And what he says, goes!

Fei Long asks what else does he demand. Ken tells him that as of now, he is his co-star. Together, they can make this movie twice as great! He then tells Yuen Lo that he's expanding her part, and he looks forward to working with her. Later on, the next scene is about to be filmed. Fei Long reminds everyone that they are fighting on the edge of the roof...

...and because of the height, they can't use air bags. So everyone must make sure their harnesses and wires are on tight. Everyone gets ready, but Fei Long asks Ken where his harness is. Ken says he doesn't need one, as it'll just cramp his style. Fei Long tells him it's his funeral, and then calls action. The cameras start rolling.

Two actors are sent flying of the roof as planned, as Yuen Lo kicks another one. But he gets sent flying into Ken, resulting in them both being knocked off the roof.

Fei Long dives after Ken and manages to catch him just in time. But up above, another real triad enforcer cuts Fei Long's wire.

The two start falling again, but Ken lands on his feet and catches Fei Long. The latter portion of this is caught on camera, and soon hits the news. One presenter states it's amazing such an experienced martial arts master as Fei Long was so careless, and that his production was blessed by such a responsible newcomer: Ken Masters. She feels the world is going to be hearing a lot more from Ken, who's star is on the rise, and that maybe it's time for Fei Long to hang up the nunchaku and make way for new blood.

Fei Long watches the news report, but says nothing. Ken suddenly finds himself to be very popular, and is soon a Hollywood mega star.

Ryu returns to the studio, and asks Fei Long where Ken is. Fei Long says Ken is probably out partying. He's late every day, refuses to rehearse, and is blowing all of his lines. He wants to fire him, but his father is paying all the bills. Ken then finally arrives, and Fei Long says he looks cool today. Ken says coolness comes with being a star. Fei Long tells him he should have been here hours ago, but Ken just says he's here now, so what's the difference? Ryu tells Ken he's come here to get him for Guile's mission.

Ken tells him to go without him, as he always wanted to be undercover. He wants the spotlight, then he asks if anyone has seen Yuen Lo. Ryu reminds him that he made a promise, and his friends are counting on him. Ken says he changed his mind, so sue him. Ryu tells him that whilst they've been friends for a long time, this is the last straw. He calls him the most irresponsible person he's ever met, and then walks off. Ken doesn't seem to care though, and is more interested in Yuen Lo. He asks her if she wants to party tonight, but she pushes him away and tells him that she has to rehearse.

Fei Long tells him to leave her alone, as she's trying to be professional, unlike him. It's bad enough what he's doing to himself, but he shouldn't drag Yuen Lo down with him. He takes Ken's sunglasses off, revealing how tired Ken looks. He tells him that he doesn't get any sleep, and he's out all night partying until dawn... and he's out of shape. Ken gets offended by that last remark, and tells Fei Long he's still in shape to kick his butt. He also reminds him who the star is here, and says they will do this scene now.

Filming begins for the scene where Yuen Lo has to be rescued, but Ken keeps blowing it -his blunders include falling off the set, and messing up his fights.

After several bad takes, Fei Long says they're on the last scene. If Ken doesn't muck this up, they'll finally be done. The film crew start to laugh, at which point Ken snaps.

He decides to take it all out on Fei Long, and tackles him. Fei Long tells him he's had enough of him too, and throws him. Ken gets up and uses his hurricane kick to send Fei Long crashing into some lights.

Ken tells Fei Long that they threw him out of Hong Kong, and now he's going to throw him out of Hollywood. Fei Long kicks him back, but Ken recovers and charges. He tries to kick Fei Long, but his attack is blocked and countered. Fei Long tells Ken that he's gotten sloppy and weak, as he never would have fallen for that move before.

Ken lunges at him, but Fei Long uses a hand stand throw to send him flying into a table. He tells Ken to look at himself -he's ignored his training, and turned against all of his friends.

"And you... you're a loser! But I'm... a star!"

To Fei Long's horror, Ken throws a reel of film negative at him. But his aim is so poor it ends up hitting part of the refinery set, causing it to topple over. It starts off a fire, which quickly gets completely out of control. The film crew all run outside...

...as do Fei Long and Ken, just as the entire thing explodes behind them. Later on, as the emergency services put the fire out, Fei Long tells Ken that this ash is all that's left of his father's investment. Wo Fat and his spies tried to stop this production and couldn't, but it took an agent of destruction far more devastating than he could muster: Ken himself. Ken apologizes and says he was star struck, it made him go crazy.

He says he let down his father, his friends, and himself. Fei Long tells him that being sorry won't restore the film, nor will it defeat Wo Fat, nor will is repay his father -neither the money, or his trust. Ken tells him he is right, and he has to change. He can see that now, and says his father was right: he has to take responsibility for his actions. Danten appears, and has heard everything. He tells Ken that if he really means that, then it was worth losing his money -if he got his son back.

Later on, Fei Long thanks Danten for helping him. He's gotten him a starring role in a new movie filming in Hong Kong, which is where he is flying back to now. Once he's done, he says he'll finally be able to go after Wo Fat. He tells Danten he owes him a lot, but Ken says it's not as much as he owes him. Danten asks Ken if he's ready to settle down and come work with him, but Ken says he can't. He still has to do what he believes in, but even more important than that...

"...I have a commitment to keep."
