The Judgment

Kakyoin still can't believe what's happened to Avdol, but Hol Horse says he supposes most the lives of most people end up like that. They die without so much as a goodbye... such a desolate feeling. He starts laughing, so Polnareff walks towards him.

He dares Hol Horse to say that again, but Kakyoin tells him not to let Hol Horse provoke him. Avdol had warned him about trying to fight alone, and he thinks Polnareff is trying to get revenge, even if it kills him. Polnareff asks what he's supposed to do, and Kakyoin tells him not to fight unless he has a chance of winning. They don't understand the nature of the enemy Stands at the moment, so they must retreat. Polnareff says Avdol was stabbed from behind in a cowardly manner, how can he just run away now?! Kakyoin says he shouldn't fight a battle which will cost him his life -it's what Avdol was trying to warn him about.

Hol Horse asks what they're blabbering on about. He's ready whenever Pol-Pol is. Kakyoin tells Polnareff not to waste Avdol's death. Polnareff turns around and starts to walk away.

But as he passes by a building, the Hanged Man appears in a window. J. Geil speaks through his Stand, and says that Avdol died -Polnareff must owe him one for that. Polnareff turns around, but can't see that Stand user anywhere.

The Hanged Man tells Polnareff that there's no need for him to be sad. He'll soon be meeting Avdol, along with his precious little sister. When he does meet his sister again, he should ask her about how she died. Polnareff snaps, and summons Silver Chariot. He has his Stand smash the window to pieces.

But the Hanged Man gets behind Polnareff, and says it's impossible for Silver Chariot to cut him. He exists in the mirror, and Silver Chariot can't come inside it. He thinks this must hurt Polnareff, but then tells Hol Horse to finish it. Hol Horse fires another shot, which heads straight towards Polnareff.

But Polnareff suddenly gets sent flying when he's hit with an emerald splash. Hol Horse's bullet ends up smashing into a building.

Kakyoin gets in the truck and picks up Polnareff. Hol Horse chases after it and tries to take a shot, but realizes it's out of his range. Even if his bullet hits the target, it's now too far away for the maximum impact. He looks at a shard of glass and thinks that J. Geil is out to get rid of Polnareff entirely.

As Kakyoin and Polnareff drive away, Polnareff apologizes -if he could have avenged his sister, he wouldn't have minded being killed in the attempt. But he understands what Avdol said to him now, and his words won't go to waste. Kakyoin asks him if he truly understands, and he says he does. Kakyoin elbows him in the face, and says that's in lieu of shaking hands to make up. The next time the enemy attacks, they will defeat them together.

Back in town, Jotaro and Joseph come across Avdol's body. Hol Horse sees them, and thinks he's at a disadvantage by himself. He's the type of guy who won't act alone, so he'll just have to try again later. As Kakyoin and Polnareff continue to drive, Polnareff thinks he was certain he stabbed the Hanged Man with his sword, yet he didn't hit the target. He pulls a mirror off and says the Hanged Man can launch an attack even from the smallest fragment. The Hanged Man can attack from within the mirror, which is a place he can't get his own Stand into.

He questions how he can fight a Stand like that, and throws the mirror out of the truck. Kakyoin tells him he keeps saying stuff about getting inside the mirror, or the world of the mirror, but there's no such world inside. Polnareff asks him what he means, as the Hanged Man exists in the mirror -as soon as you turn around, he's not there. Kakyoin says a mirror is just a reflection of light, but Polnareff says he knows that. If a Stand can exist, it's not so strange that a world inside a mirror also exists. Kakyoin thinks that the mystery to the Hanged Man's true nature is somehow related, and that mystery must be his weak point.

Kakyoin then notices the reflection of the steering wheel -the Hanged Man is appearing in it! He looks back and sees there is nobody in the truck, but he warns Polnareff that the Hanged Man is in the steering wheel.

The Hanged Man punches through the glass, and Kakyoin ands up losing control of the truck. It flips over several times and comes to a stop upside down. Kakyoin and Polnareff crawl out.

Polnareff sees that Hanged Man bounce around onto different objects. The Stand is about to attack them, but Polnareff has Silver Chariot slice up part of the truck.

He tells Kakyoin they need to get away from any reflective objects, and the two take cover behind a rock. Polnareff says he understands now, the Hanged man bounces from mirror to mirror, and has followed them here through a series of reflections. Kakyoin thinks that the Stand's true nature is that it's a Stand of light. Polnareff says they must not go near any reflective objects, but then they see a kid come up to them. The kid says they were in a car accident, so they must need medicine. They should buy it from him, he'll sell it to them for cheap!

They see the Hanged Man in the kid's eye, so they quickly get away from him. Polnareff tells him not to look at them, but the kids wonders what they're doing. Polnareff tells him to get lost.

But as the kid looks at him, the Hanged Man sees Polnareff. Polnareff summons his Stand, but the Hanged Man asks him what he's going to do -surely he wouldn't poke out a child's eye with his sword, would he? He grabs Polnareff by the neck and tells him he can't escape now, unless he pokes out the kid's eyes.

Kakyoin thinks what the Hanged Man is doing is unforgivable, but Polnareff starts laughing. He tells in Kakyoin not to say lines like that in situations like this. When the time comes to take revenge, you need to say something like this: "My name is Jean-Pierre Polnareff, and for the honor of my sister's spirit, and for my friend Avdol to rest in peace, I will drive you to the depths of despair!"

He suddenly kicks sand into the kid's eye, and as the Hanged Man leaves, Polnareff has Silver Chariot strike.

The Hanged Man ends up in Polnareff's eye. Polnareff says he's not sure how the enemy Stand works, but he moves at the speed of light. Usually that's a speed beyond all recognition, but as that kids eyes were so close, he knew the Hanged Man's next move would be to his eyes. Since he knew his opponent's next move, cutting him was easy! The Hanged Man has been cut, and they hear someone yell out nearby, Polnareff tells Kakyoin to come on.

The two run towards some ruins, where many people are gathered. They head further in, and eventually come across an injured man. Polnareff thinks he's finally meeting J. Geil. He tells him his Stand surprised him at first, as there was nothing he could do to counter it. But one he understood how it worked, it was no big deal.

But as he looks at the guy, he realizes he can't be J. Geil -he doesn't have two right hands! As he realizes this, he gets stabbed in the back with a knife.

Kakyoin pulls it out, but the two then hear someone laughing. J Geil appears above them, and calls Polnareff a fool. He didn't even know what he looked like, yet he still charged in carelessly. The injured guy is just some street peddler, who he'd cut with a knife earlier. Polnareff is about to jump up to where he is, but he tells him to wait. He tells them to take a good look around...

...and then yells out that these travelers would like to give out money to everyone. This leads to a large crowd of beggars coming in and surrounding Polnareff and Kakyoin. J. Geil starts having his Stand bounce from...

...person to person. He says he's aware of his own Stand's weakness, so by having so many people here, it will make the Stand's motion path unpredictable, and it'll no longer be vulnerable! Polnareff tells everyone to stop looking at them. J. Geil says they can't escape now, unless they want to create an exit by killing everyone. He thinks Polnareff has wasted his life trying to kill him. So once he's killed Polnareff, he will happily live on, with women waiting upon him!

He then says that Polnareff's sister gave a great crying performance before she died. Polnareff curses at him and tells him to wait, as he's coming up there right now. Kakyoin then laughs, and tells Polnareff his words aren't appropriate. When the time come to take revenge, you shouldn't say stuff like that in your lines. You should say it like this: "My name is Noriaki Kakyoin, and for my friend Avdol, and for the soul of my friend Polnareff's sister to rest in peace, may J. Geil atone for these crimes with his life!" He pulls out a coin...

...and flips it high up into the air. The crowd all immediately look up, as Kakyoin promises to let whoever picks up this gold coin keep it. He states it's a gold coin that's so shiny you can see your face in it! Polnareff gets what Kakyoin is trying to do, and starts looking at the crowd.

He sees where the Hanged Man is, and kicks dirt into the beggar's eye. The Hanged Man has to leave it...

...and goes to the object everyone is now looking at: the gold coin. Polnareff summons Silver Chariot, and has it strike at the Hanged Man before he can enter the coin.

The Hanged Man is sliced up, and J. Geil is heavily injured. He falls down off the cliff and lands in front of Polnareff and Kakyoin. He gets up and begs to be spared, but Polnareff tells him he's the one who is giving a great crying performance. J. Geil keeps begging for his life, but Polnareff thinks his sister must have done the same thing before she died. He says he has waited for this moment...

...and tells J. Geil that from here, he'll be wailing his way down to hell. He has Silver Chariot stab J. Geil over and over again, cutting into his face. Polnareff delivers the final strike.

J. Geil hits a fence, and gets entangled in barbed wire. He has died, and is left hanging upside down. Nearby, Hol Horse has seen everything, and thinks he's not up for this -only by pairing up with someone can his own abilities really shine. It's better to be number 2 than number 1 -that's his own philosophy of life. He decides to run and wait for the next opportunity.

But he then gets punched in the face, and is knocked down. Jotaro and Joseph appear, as they, Polnareff and Kakyoin surround Hol Hose. Joseph says they know about Avdol, and have given him a simple but proper burial. Jotaro asks what they're going to do with Hol Horse. Kakyoin says it was J. Geil who stabbed Avdol in the back, but direct cause of Avdol's death was the bullet that Hol Horse fired.

Polnareff says he'll carry out justice, and Hol Horse immediately starts begging for his life. Polnareff thinks they're all the same, and goes to strike Hol Horse. But before he can, Hol Horse's woman runs over and grabs him. She tells her dearest Hol Horse to run. Her reason for living is for Hol Horse's well being, so she tells him to hurry. Hol Horse gets onto his bike, and tells her he gladly accepts her offer. He'll live on!

He says he's running away because he loves her, otherwise, they won't be able to love each other forever. He says he loves her, and then rides off. Polnareff is going to strike the woman, but Joseph tells him to stop. He says that now isn't the time to chase off after Hol Horse, as they haven't got the time for a side trip.

Kakyoin says that's right, as to carry out Avdol's intentions, it's best that they hurry on ahead for now. Later on, the group go to Avdol's grave. Joseph tells Avdol to rest in peace.

Polnareff tells everyone that they must resume their journey to Egypt. Dio is a formidable enemy, so to beat him, they must join their hearts as one! Dio is sure to take advantage if any of them get out of line. As he walks off, Kakyoin wonders how he can say something like that to them. Joseph thinks Polnareff is, in his own way, reflecting on what he's done.

Polnareff tells everyone to move it, and the group walk off. As they go, Polnareff tells Avdol to just watch -he promises to avenge him.

Meanwhile, Enya is in great pain. She realizes her son has died, and she screams out. She reveals she has two right hands, and says that her dearest son died with his body covered in wounds like these. She can feel his pain, and says she will make certain she'll kill them all with her own hands... by using her own Stand, Justice!
