A shadow heads towards the Earth. In Japan, the Trainbots take Daniel and Wheelie past Mt. Fuji, and Shouki explains that no other planet has such a beautiful mountain. The narrator explains that Daniel and Wheelie have come to the place where the Trainbots were created: Japan.

The group start watching a rock band play on a giant TV screen, but suddenly the image changes to the shadow of something. The figure starts to speak and tells the people of Japan to surrender all of their energy reserves or they will be destroyed. The Trainbots go back to Cybertron City and tell Ultra Magnus about the message, who has it replayed on a viewscreen. Ultra Magnus wonders if it's a new enemy which isn't a Destron and has Scattershot send a report to Athenia. On Athenia the Cybertron Headmasters leave for Earth via Broadside.

On Jaar, the Destrons examine the message, and Cyclonus says they can't let this new enemy take the Earth's energy away from the Destron army. Cyclonus suggests that they go to Earth and let this enemy take the energy, but they will then snatch it from him. The two start to argue over which one of them will get to do this mission, but Galvatron tells them to go together if they are so keen. As they leave, Galvatron calls them both fools.

Cyclonus and Scourge ask the Destron Headmasters to come with them, but they are too bust playing poker and have no interest in going. Meanwhile, Rodimus and the Cybertron Headmasters have arrived on Earth, and find out that several other countries -including Britain and the USA -have been threatened as Japan was. Rodimus tells the Headmasters to go to the threatened countries and find out what they can. Elsewhere on Earth, at the Destron base, Cyclonus and Scourge tell Sixshot what has happened with this shadow figure, but he just laughs it off.

They ask what is so funny but he just says their story was delightful. Meanwhile, in New York, the Cybertron Headmasters are waiting around on the Statue of Liberty, comparing the statue to Arcee. Brainstorm thinks the statue looks better than Arcee. Chromedome reminds everyone they are here to find out where that shadowy figure is, and they visit a TV station to pick up some recorded footage of it.

They find out that the shadow figure has a different shape for each country that it has threatened, and they head back to base to inform Rodimus. They look at all the shapes and see various forms. This news filters through to the other Cybertrons, but the Trainbots tell Daniel not to worry. They are six units also, so as long as they are around, this shadow guy won't be able to do a thing.

Just then Shouki happens to see Ratbat hiding in a corner of the room, and he and the other Trainbots fire on him. But Ratbat transforms and manages to get away, returning to Soundblaster.

Soundblaster returns to the Earth Destron base, and tells Cyclonus and Scourge about the six shadows, plus the fact that the Cybertron Headmasters have come to defend the Earth. Cyclonus and Scourge want to head out and attack the six shadows first, but Sixshot says he can't go with them, as someone needs to stay behind to defend Dinosaurer. They think he is a coward and go off without him, but he just laughs. Later on, the shadow is Sixshot, and he attacks Britain in his wolf transformation.

Some Cybertrons arrive in Britain later on, but find out that they are too late. At Cybertron City a new report comes in showing that the enemy is now attacking a city in the United States.

Once again Metroflex and the Cybertron Headmasters are sent out to the location, only to find that the enemy has once again gotten away. They do find Cyclonus and Scourge however, but the two Destrons take off before they can get any info out of them, leaving the Cybertrons wondering what they were doing there.

Returning back to Cybertron City, the Cybertrons study the attacked countries and guess that the next place that will be attacked may be Japan, as it has an excellent energy production program that generates energy at the bottom of the sea. The Trainbots walk in and Daniel says that they have been shopping and touring around Japan. The Headmasters criticize the Trainbots, saying that there are far more important things going on for them to be messing around shopping.

The Trainbots do not take kindly to this and Daniel says that he asked the Trainbots to take him and Wheelie out, but Chromedome tells him to be quiet. But Daniel storms off and throws almost all the stuff he bought on the floor.

Daniel goes into a room alone and starts spinning a toy shuriken around when the Headmasters show up. Chromedome brings back all the stuff Daniel bought and apologises for earlier, but Daniel says that it's okay. Chromedome then takes interest in the toy shuriken Daniel has and asks what it is.

Daniel explains about how it was a weapon that ninjas used to attack with. Chromedome doesn't know what a ninja is, so Daniel explains about the legendary warriors, who could perform special techniques, such as being able to create multiples of themselves to confuse the enemy. Chromedome is reminded of something that happened on Master a long time a go.

He and the others were working on producing energon, when one day a strange robot appeared. This robot wanted all of their energy, but when his request was refused, he created multiples of himself and started firing on the security team.

The team were quickly killed, and Chromedome's friend, Abel, also got shot. Chromedome tried to attack Abel's murder, but got kicked away. The shadow figure was Sixshot, and he just laughed at Chromedome.

Back in the present, Sixshot has started his attack on Japan. Rodimus tells the Cybertron Headmasters to go when the Trainbots run into the room. Shouki requests that they go and deal with this menace, as they want to defend Japan. Rodimus says they can go instead.

"Why not us?!"

"..."

As the Trainbots move out, they are seen by Cyclonus and Scourge. Cyclonus wants to move out, but Scourge wonders if they should. Since Sixshot isn't around, Cyclonus decides to call the shots and says they will go out, and can use Dinosaurer. As they head to Japan, Sixshot is still busy destroying the place.

However the Trainbots soon appear and transform into Raiden, the team's giant robot mode. Sixshot tries to take him on but Raiden's size proves to be a problem, and he gets punched, However, Dinosaurer than arrives and easily knocks Raiden back. With him distracted, Sixshot scores a hit on him and now the odds aren't in Raiden's favor.

Raiden is clearly in trouble, but the Cybertron Headmasters have seen everything and are already on their way. They arrive in Japan and start bombarding Dinosaurer with lasers, which lets Raiden fire back on Sixshot.

Dinosaurer has been damaged, and Cyclonus and Scourge have to abandon him. They transform and are engaged in a dogfight with Brainstorm and Highbrow. Sixshot transforms into his jet mode and takes to the skies, but Cyclonus and Scourge crash into him by accident.

The Destrons land over a forest, and Sixshot transforms into his gun mode and then creates multiples of himself. He starts firing all over the Cybertrons following him, but Chromedome and Hardhead eventually manage to hit his real body.

Sixshot crashes, but is still not going to go down so easily and splits himself into multiple robots. They all open fire, but Raiden can take it and runs straight through his lasers and charges into him.

Sixshot recovers and transforms back into his wolf mode, and then does his multiples technique before attacking Raiden all together. Chromedome and Hardhead start firing at all the Sixshots and get them off Raiden, knocking him back. Cyclonus and Scourge try and help him up, but he hits them away. He says he'll get revenge on Chromedome later, and then transforms into his jet mode and gets away. Cyclonus and Scourge follow him.

Back on Jaar, Galvatron is not happy and calls Cyclonus and Scourge brainless idiots. Cyclonus starts to say that if Galvatron had explained to them what his plan was earlier, this wouldn't have happened, but Galvatron isn't listening any more. Because of them, they hurt their own forces more than the enemy, they dare to criticize his plans and Dinosaurer has been destroyed. They are fools to him, and he starts stomping on them both.

At Cybertron City the Trainbots and Headmasters are friends again. It is time for both teams to go back to Athenia, taking Daniel with them. And the final shot has a suspiciously stubby and short train heading back to Athenia.

NOTES

Now you'd think Ultra Magnus -the guy that fought Sixshot in the first episode -would recognise who the shadow was straight away. It makes sense for the other Cybertrons in this episode to wonder who he is as they've never seen him before. When we first see the shadow it has a much higher pitched tinny voice instead of Sixshot's usual voice however.

Early on in the episode there is an exterior shot of the Cybertron Earth base, and you can see part of a spaceship in the bottom left corner. This doesn't make sense because this spaceship was destroyed in a season 3 episode. The exterior shot is shown again towards the end of this episode.

Galvatron refers to Dinosaurer being "destroyed" but as Dinosaurer shows up in later episodes, he must have just meant "damaged".
