Soundwave fought in a battle with Broadcast, his Cybertron counterpart, and both died as a result. On the Destron world of Jaar, Headmaster technology from Scorponok is being used to revive Soundwave. His old head is placed on a new body, and some energy is sent through it. Soundwave's cassettes watch anxiously as the process goes on. The process then ends, and out steps Soundwave, fully revived. However, his colors have changed and he has a new name:

DESTRON INFORMATION OFFICER:

SOUNDBLASTER

Soundblaster reports to Galvatron, who has had him revived for a new mission. After explaining that he has gone to the trouble of having him revived and he should serve him well, Galvatron explains about something new they have created: the "Madmachine". He wants to test the Madmachine and has it sent to Sixshot on Earth.

EARTH

On Earth, Dinosaurer is in vehicle mode when Sixshot tells him to take off. Sixshot has Dinosaurer move out so they deliberately get picked up on Autobot sensors. When Ultra Magnus finds out that Dinosaurer is heading towards an oilfield, he sends Metroflex to intercept.

Dinosaurer transforms into dinosaur mode and lands just as Metroflex arrives. The two start to battle each other, but it doesn't take long for Metroflex to get the upper hand, and he starts to shoot Dinosaurer whilst he's down.

Just then the Madmachine bursts out of the Earth, and goes towards Metroflex. Ultra Magnus wonders what it could be, but then the Madmachine blasts Metroflex with lasers. These lasers start to shut down Metroflex's systems, leaving him open for Dinosaurer to smash into him and knock him down. With the test being a complete success, the Madmachine is out of energy. Galvatron tells Sixshot to pull out so they can recharge it and then send it to Cybertron.

Meanwhile Ultra Magnus and Meister start to fix Metroflex and try to find out what just happened. Ultra Magnus reports to Rodimus Convoy about the Madmachine, saying that it can disrupt computer circuitry.

Chear wonders why the Destrons didn't finish off Metroflex there and then, but Rodimus suggests that they were merely testing it and that their real target is Cybertron, specifically the Vector Sigma computer. The Cybertron Headmasters show up and say they'll go to Jaar and destroy the machine, but Rodimus says no and that they need to find out more about this new weapon, and to try and find out what weak point it has. He decides to send Eject, Rewind, Steeljaw and Amhorn, but they don't want to go -they feel they are not good enough to carry out the mission without Broadcast, and have no confidence in their own abilities any more.

They try to leave, only for Brainstorm and Chromedome to block them off and call them cowards -they are meant to be Cybertrons. There is a stand-off between the two teams, but Daniel then runs across and defends the cassette robots, saying that the others don't understand.

Daniel and the team leave, but Rodimus goes to them and has some news: Broadcast is going to be revived. Fortress is on Athenia right now working on it. Daniel and the cassette robots are very happy again, and head to Athenia.

Meanwhile, on Jaar, with the Madmachine test being such a success, Galvatron has it powered up significantly, giving it much better armor than before. Meanwhile, on Athenia, some of the Cybertrons have gathered into Battleship Maximus, which has been transformed into base mode.

Inside the base, Fortress explains that a new body has been created for Broadcast on planet Master, and it is going to be beamed through to them here. He will then energize it and give it life. The process starts and in the chamber at the front of the room, a new robot is formed. The revived Broadcast steps out and shakes hands with Rodimus Convoy, however, Broadcast now has blue colors instead of red, and also has a new name:

CYBERTRON COMMUNICATION OFFICER:

TWINCAST

Rodimus fills in Twincast about the whole Madmachine situation and tells him to head for Earth via the space bridge and to find out more information about how it works. In the meantime, Rodimus has the Cybertron Headmasters and Throttlebots sent to Cybertron to defend Vector Sigma, as the Destrons will surely be heading to it soon. Twincast arrives on Earth and meets up with the Autobot Triplebots, who say they'll buy him some time to infiltrate Dinosaurer.

They take off and heads towards Dinosaurer, and as they get closer, Blitzwing, Astrotrain and Octone are sent out to fight with them. As that battle begins, Broadcast arrives near Dinosaurer and sends out his cassettes.

They are all spotted by the Combatrons, who open fire on them. They start to fire back, but then the Airbots arrive and transform into Superion. The Combatrons transform into Bruticus, and the two super robots start to fight.

This lets Broadcast and his team get into Dinosaurer with ease. Meanwhile, the Madmachine is sent from Jaar to Cybertron, and the three Destron Headmasters are sent with it.

As the Madmachine and Destrons appear, they are spotted by Chromedome, and another battle begins. Chromedome and the others fight the Destrons, whilst telling the Throttlebots to go and destroy the Madmachine. They find the thing and start shooting at it...

...but their puny weapons fail to damage it, and they are all blasted. The effects of the blast make them all easy targets for the Destron Headmasters.

As Mindwipe makes Wide Load and Rollbar fight each other, Goldbug regains his senses and gets the Throttlebots to help each other out and fight back against the Decepticons.

Back on Earth, Twincast enters a room and scares Sixshot off by shooting at him, and then he and his cassette robots try to find out any information they can on the Madmachine. Eject finds and uses a computer which plays back a audio log from Galvatron, who explains that the Madmachine is actually being sonically-controlled by Soundblaster on Jaar. Learning that his old rival has also been bought back to life, Twincast reports to Rodimus that he is going to Jaar to destroy the sonic-controller.

Twincast heads towards the Destron space bridge, but it is guarded by the Buildrons. Pulling out his new red electro-scrambler gun, he fires several shots and blasts the Buildrons out of the way. He then gets to the space bridge and uses it to get to Jaar. Meanwhile on Cybertron, the Madmachine continues to be a nuisance, and even the Cybertron Headmasters can't seem to stop it.

Broadcast arrives on Jaar but has to fight off Soundblaster's cassettes. He sends out his own cassettes and they start to fight.

As the cassettes fight, Broadcast goes on. Galvatron and Cyclonus are watching the Madmachine on a viewscreen, when Broadcast appears and sees Soundblaster. Twincast yells out and Soundblaster transforms into his robot mode. Twincast introduces himself and says he's going to destroy the sonic-controller. As Soundblaster asks if he wants to end up as scrap metal again, Twincast has used his sensors to find out that the sonic-controller is inside Soundblaster's chest.

Galvatron is alerted to Twincast's presence and has Cyclonus shoot him, but Twincast avoids the fire and shoots at Soundblaster. His shot hits him and makes his chest compartment open, ejecting the sonic-controller.

One shot later and the sonic-controller is no more. Twincast says sayonara and runs off before any of the Destrons can stop him. On Cybertron, Chromedome and Hardhead notice that the Madmachine is shooting in any direction without any hint of accuracy, so they attack it together with everything they've got.

The Madmachine doesn't attempt to move and gets blasted, and explodes seconds later. The Destron Headmasters retreat whilst the Cybertron Headmasters return to Athenia. Chromedome says he had no idea that it was Twincast who helped them destroy the Madmachine. Arcee says that Twincast isn't back yet only for him then to appear as Daniel runs up to him and calls him Broadcast. Twincast reminds him that that isn't his name any more -it is Twincast!

Daniel says he forgot as that gets some forced laughter out of everyone. Rodimus thinks to himself that he and the others will continue to fight the Destrons and defeat them.

NOTES

The real reason Soundwave and Broadcast were revived is because they both had new toys out in Japan -the toys were repaints of the originals, but also had another difference: they could hold two cassettes in their chest compartments, rather than just one.

Too bad nobody thought of using this incredible resurrection technology to bring Convoy back to life, hmm?
