Kenshiro's battles are over. Having defeated Raoh, and finally reuniting with Yuria, he and his girlfriend ride on Kokuoh-Go. Ken takes Yuria to a place which hasn't been that effected by the nuclear war -whilst buildings are damaged, there are lots of trees, a beach and even an ocean. They head up to a building and Ken says that, back in the day, he originally wanted to marry Yuria here.

WHY IS JUUZA OF THE CLOUD'S SPIRIT HERE WHEN HE WASN'T IN ANY OF THE DEN MOVIES WHY WHY WHHHHY
Yuria says that they should do it -they should get married here, now. Kenshiro agrees and the two head inside the empty church. Ken puts Raoh's cloak on Yuria and tells her that he surely would have given his blessing for their marriage. Yuria says that, if these were times of peace, everyone would have come to this event. Suddenly the church bells begin and Ken asks Yuria if she can see them...the spirits of their fallen friends...with the likes of Raoh, Ryuken and Juuza all appearing.

Ken and Yuria look at the spirits and then kneel down to pray. Ken says that all of their souls shall unite into one, for all of eternity. Later on, the two head back out of the church to watch the sunset.

However Yuria is still sick and is going to die eventually. She suddenly coughs and as Ken comes to her aid, he says he wishes there was something he could do to fight her illness. Yuria tells him not to be sad, but to instead tell her about the journey he had to go on to find her. However, she says that she isn't the only one who will listen, and she puts Kenshiro's hand on her stomach...

..and he can feel a heartbeat: Yuria is pregnant! She says that his voice will surely be heard, and his legacy of being the savior will be passed down.

Years before the above scene happened, however, Kenshiro was no savior. The narrator explains that a nuclear war destroyed most of the Earth and that in the new era, violence ruled. People without power lost all hope, and could only pray for a savior to arise. This savior is Kenshiro. However at the moment Kenshiro lies battered in the wastelands, having been terribly injured by his former friend, Shin. A pack of hungry wolves see his body, and move towards it.

The wolves get closer and closer until they suddenly all run in, only to then all explode: Kenshiro has gotten up and killed them all!

Kenshiro opens his eyes...but then the wounds on his chest, which he received from Shin, erupt with blood and he falls back down. The narrator tells us that Kenshiro is the successor to the ultimate assassination style: Hokuto Shinken. However, he has yet to awaken to his destiny.

SHIN KYŪSEISHU DENSETSU - HOKUTO NO KEN ZERO: KENSHIRO DEN

(Legends of the True Savior - Fist of the North Star Zero: Legend of Kenshiro)

Kenshiro is still unconscious as night turns to day. A family happen to travel past him and get out to take a look. They see that this man must have killed the wolves that are splattered around the place, but it appears that he has also died. They are about to leave when the youngest member of the family, Amo, says she just saw the man's fingers move. Her sister, Danne, runs over and places her head on Kenshiro's chest and realises that he has a heartbeat, so he really is alive.

Their father, Yaman, doesn't know what to do but their mother, Saya, says that should at least take him to the next village. Yaman and his kids pick Kenshiro up and take him back towards their truck, only to find that Saya is being held hostage!

Several men, many of them armed with crossbows, have appeared next to their truck. But they don't fire yet as their leader, Guruma, appears. He heads over and counts them up: two adults, two brats and one half-dead loser. Guruma is a slave trader and a haul like this isn't exactly the best he's had, but he reckons that the lot of them ought to be worth two to three days worth of food.

Guruma explains that if they don't want to be slaves, then he'll have them killed now. Since they don't want to die Yaman and his family have no choice but to be put onto a truck. Before they move though Danne tells Guruma they shouldn't leave the man they found out here as he's still alive. Guruma says he has no need for zombies, but then also decides to take a closer look at Danne. He thinks Danne has a cute face...if only she was a girl. He doesn't realise that Danne really is a girl, but for now he tells her that he can't sell half-dead goods.

Amo and Danne tell him that this man is no ordinary man, and he should take a look at the wolves he defeated. Guruma and his men take a look around and see that the wolves have been seemingly blown apart from the inside. Guruma thinks that the way they were killed wasn't done by gun or sword, so maybe there really is something to this man after all. He decides to take him with the rest of his new slaves after all -he could be a great investment!

Later on a huge line of slaves is seen, which heads all the way into a city. However Guruma is transporting his new slaves by truck and as they drive past the line he tells them all that they're very lucky to have been captured by him. "Treat your goods with respect" happens to be his motto, and that means that get to go by truck rather than walk. His little convoy consists of three trucks which all head towards their destination: Gesso City.

Gesso City is protected by a large outer wall. Inside the city, many of the buildings are damaged, but there is one palace in the middle of it which has been reconstructed and is in absolutely pristine condition. Guruma explains to his new slaves that Gesso City is home to one of the largest slave markets around. They will be sold or traded here. However, they aren't that strong looking. He prefers to capture strong people as they are high in demand by militant groups looking for new recruits. He can make a fortune off them. Danne then notices something else nearby...

...and Guruma explains to her that the people crucified are the ones who tried to run away. She would be wise to remember what she saw here. Later on, the new slaves are taken to Guruma's Slave Shop, and thrown into a cell. Guruma tells them all that when potential customers walk by, he wants them to show a lot of spirit. He then leaves and as the door closes, Yaman and his family realise that they aren't the only ones in here...

...there is also another slave called Fugen. He tells them that his legs are badly injured, so Guruma is having a hard time selling him. He watches the kids tend to Kenshiro and says they are like a pair of angels. Yaman apolgises to his wife, and wishes that he could have been stronger.

Guruma has his men put a sign up explaining to customers that he has a wolf killer -highly recommended, and fully guaranteed! However another one of his men then runs over and tells him that the Shogun wants to see him -now. Guruma pulls his face and slowly walks off towards the palace. Yaman asks who this Shogun is, and is told that the Shogun controls this city, and his name is Siska. One bizarre fact about him is that, before the war, he was simply a computer software developer! The way he got to run this place is because this city has a still working sewage disposal facility which cleans filthy water. The Shogun is the only one now who knows the password to operate it, so he gets to call the shots in this city.

The reason Guruma doesn't like visiting the Shogun is that, before the war, Guruma used to be Siska's boss at the software development company. Now he has to serve his former underling. And inside the palace, we get to see the mighty Shogun Siska. This building still has electricity, which means Siska can still use things like computers. And of course, as Siska has so much power here, he can basically do whatever he wants. Such as eating and drinking junk food everyday, turning him into an ugly fat blob.

Guruma arrives and takes a seat. Siska asks his about how his business is doing, and finds out that it has become harder for Guruma to find high quality goods. But he found a supposed "wolf killer" recently, and so will try and sell him for as high a price possible. That way he should be able to pay back some of the money he owes Siska. Siska tells him that had better be the case, as if his repayments take any longer, he might find that he'll lose his shop. A rival slave trader known as Jinia has had his eye on his shop for a while. Guruma apparently hates Jinia and says he'd have anything other than losing his shop to Jinia happen. He then accidentally refers to Guruma as "chief" which really angers him, making him smash a bottle and threaten to stab him with it. Guruma says he'll repay his Shogun back and then leaves.

Guruma returns to his shop, where he finds that his new sign has gotten together quite a big crowd. However they aren't convinced if this "wolf killer" is the real deal, as he hasn't moved an inch since they've been watched. Guruma explains that he's just a little worn-down at the moment, but when he's at his best he can rip apart wolves with his bare hands! But Kenshiro still doesn't move and the crowd still don't believe Guruma's claims. They leave his store, leaving Guruma without the cash he wanted so badly.

As day turns to night once again, a single light bulb is the only thing that illuminates Guruma's shop. Danne and Amo are still tending to Kenshiro. Whilst Kenshiro isn't awake, he is dreaming...

Kenshiro is dreaming about what happened just a few days a go. Shin stabbed him in his chest seven times, whilst saying that Yuria is his now, and it is for her own good. Even though Kenshiro knew he had come to take Yuria away from him, he hesitated to kill him. That means he is weak, and such kindness has no place in this age.

Kindness cannot protect a woman...that's why he can't allow him to have her! The next thing we see is Yuria falling whilst screaming Ken's name, and at that point the dream ends as Kenshiro finally wakes up.
