Hiruka has two kids thrown into the sand pit. Fudo jumps in after them and saves them for now, but he begins to sink.

Elsewhere, Rihaku's two men see Kenshiro walking through the desert and head up to him. They find him with Kan, the kid Ken saved previously. The two guys tell Kenshiro who they are and that they will escort him to the Nanto capital, but they then learn from Kan that his friends have been taken by Hiruka. Ken is filled in on who Hiruka is and that the kids are orphans who Fudo was looking after. The two men show Kenshiro where the capital is and they are so close they can see it -but Kenshiro does not want to go there yet, he must save Fudo and the children.

They all start to head back to where Fudo last was, but encounter several of Ken-Oh's men. Kenshiro defeats them all, but it wasted some of his time in doing so.

Meanwhile Bat and Lin find a log that they throw into the pit. Fudo puts the two kids on it, but they all continue to sink, and it seems impossible for them to escape. As Fudo tells Bat and Lin to escape, Hiruka isn't happy that those two kids are roaming free down below, so he decides that they can go in next. He sends down some troops to either get them or kill them.

Fudo tells them to run and Bat has to lead Lin away from the pit. But they soon encounter a soldier ready to place his axe into Bat's skull, until someone stops him from using his weapon. As he turns around, he suddenly gets hit a lot...

...and then gets sent flying, before he explodes. Kenshiro has arrived, but Fudo isn't happy to see him as he should have gone straight to the capital, as his and the last General's future depended on it! Ken tells him that if it is his destiny to meet this General it will happen, just not now as he must help Fudo.

Rihaku's two men thrown down a rope into the pit but as they struggle to pull him out due to his large weight, Hiruka gives them no chance at all and has his troops open fire with a volley of arrows, killing them both.

Hiruka knows that the only chance Fudo has is to throw the kids up and out of the pit, but the moment he does that he'll have his men shoot them with arrows. Fudo then starts to suck in sand and Hiruka doesn't know what he is up to until he blows it back out of his mouth, creating a mini sandstorm which makes it difficult for anyone to see anything. Fudo throws up the kids and hopes Ken can get them.

But the troops put their goggles on and fire. It doesn't look good at first, but the arrows have hit Ken, not the kids, so all is well. With the children safe Ken then grabs onto the rope with just one hand and starts to pull Fudo up. Hiruka calls him an idiot for trying such a thing with just one arm, as two people together couldn't save him. But...

...clearly Hiruka underestimates Hokuto Shinken as Ken manages to pull Fudo out of the pit. Ken tells Fudo that the pain of these wounds he got will only last a second, whilst if Fudo died, the pain it would have caused would have lasted a life time. Hiruka and several of his troops move down a bit, as Kenshiro watches them. Ken says he doesn't have time to deal with them, so he'll kill them quickly. Hiruka thinks he talks big.

Hiruka and his friends then use their slightly ridiculous Taizan Yo Ken techniques together and their ribbons wrap round Kenshiro and hold him. Hiruka says that their ribbons will stop him from being able to breathe, before ripping him into pieces. To make sure that he'll absolutely be dead though Hiruka reveals his final trick, and opens up his armor to reveal lots of lethal spikes.

He jumps towards Kenshiro, but something as stupid as evil ribbons isn't going to stop a Hokuto Shinken master and after breaking free from them, Ken picks up a boulder that was beside him. Hiruka falls right onto it, badly damaging himself.

He orders his men to fire, but as they do Ken throws the boulder at them so their arrows end up hitting Hiruka by accident. The boulder crashes into them and kills the archers, as Kenshiro kills anyone else who wants to stand in his way.

When the boulder hit, it broke up and Hiruka hit the side of a wall. But he falls off it and lands in the pit. As he begs for help, he gets none as Ken tells him to use his last moments to think about all of the sins he has committed. Soon Hiruka is gone.

Ken says they must resume their journey to the capital now. As Fudo thinks how Kenshiro is as powerful as he is kind-hearted, he isn't the only one observing. Up above, Juuza was also watching and sees why Kenshiro was the truly the man Yuria loved, which makes him feel relieved.

Kokuoh gets restless again, but Juuza calms him down. He knows that the horse wants to be back under Raoh's command and it is time for him to be reunited with his master, so Juuza tells him to take him back to Raoh. Meanwhile, at the Nanto capital, both Tou and Rihaku know that Kenshiro is getting closer and closer to them, and they are glad that he has come this far. Soon, he will be able to meet the last General.
