Having left Asis City, Kenshiro, Bat and Lin are once again on the search for Shin, and have had to camp it out in the desert as night falls. Bat then notices a lot of dust in the distance getting closer to them, and not far away two people are running from a biker gang. The gang catches up with them.

Things do not look good for the couple, but then Kenshiro arrives and the gang leader demands to know who he is. One of them throws a knife at him, but he catches it with two fingers and throws it into one of their bikes. Some of the bikers realise that with skills like that, he must be Kenshiro of Hokuto Shinken, so they flee. The leader tells Ken he'll be sorry for this and also rides off. Lin sees to the couple's wounds when some lights can be seen in the distance: more people are on the way!

These people are simple villagers who demand the woman -Mika -to come back home to their village. Her father is there and says she must come back otherwise he cannot live in the city, saying something about asking "Madame Patra again". He takes her by force, splitting her up with her boyfriend, Sam. She says she'd rather die than go back and starts screaming in protest whilst Kenshiro just stands there thinking about how a similar situation happened to him. The next morning, the trio are out on the move again, but Bat says he didn't get any sleep last night.

He almost runs down some kid who runs into the way of the car, but Bat just manages to avoid him. Bat then starts to yell at the kid but the kid just asks: are you strong? Bat starts to give a long-winded reply so the kid just goes to Ken and asks him instead. He begs Ken to go and save his sister and offers all of the rice seeds he has as a reward as if nobody will save her, Madame Patra's men will take her away. Ken correctly guesses that this kid's sister must be Mika, who they met last night.

In the kid's village, Mika and Sam have already been given over to Patra's men and are taken away. A little while later Kenshiro's group get there only to see that they are too late and the kid, who's name is revealed to be Jiro, asks about his sister and discovers that she is gone. His father says that she will only be with Patra for a little while, but Jiro seems to believe that she will never be coming back and begs Kenshiro to go and save her.

The village Chief then also asks for Ken's help and explains the situation: Madame Patra is some horrible old hag who controls the water supply to the village. If they don't meet her often ridiculous demands then she sends her warriors into the village to take any young women and men back to her fortress. Meanwhile at Southern Cross, Joker reports to Shin that Ken is in Patra's territory and that arrangements to kill him have already been done. Yuria thinks to herself that Ken is still alive and will come and rescue her from Shin.

At Patra's castle, a few trucks arrive. Jiro is hiding in one of these trucks and they all move inside the castle. Also inside the castle is the village chief, who is escorted by two punks to where the vile Patra is. She immediately says that she knows what the Chief is planning. She tells him that she wants to know where Kenshiro is and as he seems to fearful of her, he agrees to tell.

Jiro manages to make his way around the castle without detection and eventually finds where the latest batch of prisoners are, which includes his sister. He says he will free her and starts to do so but then a punk arrives at the door asking who is there. Back in the village, Kenshiro, Lin and Bat have been given a small little house to sleep in, but the Chief has revealed their location to Patra's men and they quickly set about burning the place.

The village Chief runs across shouting to Ken to get out of there, but one of the punks shoots him in the back and with an arrow, killing him. Ken heard his shouts though and leaps out of the burning building with Lin and Bat.

They almost all land safely and Ken then kills one of the punks. The other one gets on his bike and tries to ram Ken, but he gets kicked in the back and he crashes his vehicle straight into the blazing house. That isn't the end though as two more bad guys then arrive.

These villains have claws and are extremely agile. As soon as the pair appear Ken sees that they are using the "Bat Fist" -a style of Nanto. However, it isn't anything to worry about as they do not seem that good at actually attacking and are a lot better at pointlessly leaping about.

One of them leaps up and then dives down towards Kenshiro, intending on stabbing into his head, but he gets uppercutted and explodes. Ken tells the other one to stop or he will end up like his dead friend over there.

The other guy doesn't listen and instead goes on the attack, but Ken evades his swipes and then leaps up onto some girders. The bat man does the same and jumps across towards Kenshiro, as Ken leaps towards him with an attack of his own.

HICHOU KYUZAN PA

(Flying Bird Air Slash Wave)

This ends the second bat man's life and later on the fires are put out, as the villagers mourn the death of their Chief. Jiro's father then runs in saying that he cannot find his son anywhere and then another villager tells him that he though he was Jiro heading towards Patra's castle a while a go (good to see the villagers of this town are of the caring type). Kenshiro knows what he must do and soon he kicks down the door to Patra's personal quarters.

Ken sees the Bloody Cross and wants to know where Shin is, but Patra tells him not to be in such a rush and tells him his future: he will die. She then starts to use her magical powers to create illusions of herself and Ken cannot look at her. This gives four of Patra's men the chance to wrap their chains around Ken and Patra says that each man has the power to crush a bull's head, and that he will be torn apart.

And as an extra piece of nasty work, Patra also shows that she has Jiro locked up in a cell with a hungry wolf near him. As she begins to laugh, Kenshiro beings to rage and one shirt rip later he easily knocks down all four men and then heads over to the cell.

Kenshiro rips apart some of the bars and then deals with the wolf by punching it in the face. Patra tells her men to kill Ken, but he has already defeated them by pressing their "Dankyou-Chuuketsu" pressure points -which means in a few moments, their spinal cords will snap and their muscles will fall apart. Which is exactly what happens.

Ken asks to be taken to Shin again, but Patra just admits that she underestimated him a bit and then smashes her crystal ball. This causes a bright, flashing light which Kenshiro has to cover his eyes for as Patra vanishes.

When the flashing stops, Kenshiro finds a hidden set of stairs in the floor and heads down them. This leads him to the back of the castle and when he gets out of it he sees that all the water in the lake that is meant to be there -what the villagers depend on to live -is gone!
