Jagi is overjoyed that Kenshiro has appeared, as he has been waiting for this moment for such a long time. Ken tells him to pick a place where he wants to die, so Jagi complies and tells his opponent to follow him.

The two head up to the roof of the building, as Jagi knows that this is a place where they will not be disturbed and he can kill Kenshiro out in the open. Ken says that his strategy is a change to the usual sneak attacks that he used to use, but Jagi tells him that he is no longer the man he once knew, and tells him to think back to that day...

A group of men ran towards Jagi's home and told him the terrible news: Kenshiro has been named as Hokuto Shinken's successor! Jagi couldn't believe it and says that his other two "brothers" could not have just taken this lightly, so he headed over to the dojo to find them. He opened the front door and finds the two he was looking for. He said to them that Kenshiro does not deserve to be the successor as he is the youngest and, in his eyes, the weakest. Doesn't that make them angry?

But neither of them said anything. Jagi got even more frustrated and says that he knows what happens to the ones who fail in their quest to become the successor of Hokuto Shinken -they have their fists shattered so they can never use it or, even worse, their memories are wiped clean! There was still no response from his brothers though and Jagi stormed out to go and find Kenshiro -he certainly wasn't going to let the new successor smash his fists any time today.

As he left, one of the brothers stood up and said that Jagi will never be able to defeat Kenshiro, but Kenshiro won't be able to bring himself to kill Jagi. He believed that Ryuken's choice of successor was a mistake, and it will mark the end of the Hokuto Shinken style.

Meanwhile Kenshiro was training, whilst thinking about what Ryuken told him: Hokuto Shinken is a unbeatable killing art. If the wrong successor was chosen, it could mean the end of the world. He then found a gun being pointed at his head as Jagi appeared and told him to sit down. He then told him that he still had time to go back to Ryuken and tell him that he does not want to be the successor, as he doesn't deserve it.

Kenshiro didn't say anything, so Jagi starts to batter him with his shotgun. Ken was confused in why Jagi still uses weapons, and found out it was because Jagi thought that winning is winning, it didn't matter how you won. Ken grabbed Jagi by the face and told him to stop it before throwing him to the floor. Jagi got up and tried to attack, only for a pressure point Ken hit to cause Jagi to stumble. This let Ken start to attack Jagi, starting off by hitting him in the face.

Jagi took many hits and it made part of his head bulge out disgustingly. But Kenshiro did not finish the technique. He stopped himself from doing one fatal, final punch to his face and spared his life instead. He told Jagi that he never deserved to be the successor to Hokuto Shinken and he should go to. Jagi did so, but not before telling him that he should have killed him whilst he had the chance. But he swore that he will one day kill him instead.

Back in the present, Ken cannot believe Jagi has gone as far as impersonating him and killing whoever he wanted just to make him look bad. He takes out the arrow that Mako shot him with and says it carries the anger and sorrow of him. Jagi doesn't care at all, as not a day goes by without him being in pain. Ken's attack disfigured him for life and to show that his face is still a mess, he takes off his helmet.

Ken sees that Jagi has had to have a metal plate bolted onto his head just to prevent it from bulging out and exploding. Putting his helmet back on, Jagi says that he no longer needs his shotgun, and tosses it aside. He tells Kenshiro that he will show him the true essence of Hokuto Shinken.

HOKUTO RAKAN GEKI

(North Star Arhat Attack)

This technique involves Jagi moving his fists so rapidly that Kenshiro shouldn't be able to dodge his attacks. But that is exactly what he does. Jagi tries to spit needles into Ken's face, only for him to stop those. As Jagi is surprised by this, Ken punches him in the face.

Jagi decides that he does need his weapon after all and after grabbing it Ken tells him to go ahead and use it. Jagi thinks that he is a fool a points the gun at Ken...but then his arm turns around by itself and points the weapon at his own head! Ken had hit a pressure point that made him lose control of his right arm, and he'd better drop the weapon or he'll shoot himself. Jagi has to hit one of his own pressure points to do that, and he drops the gun.

Jagi wonders how Ken has become so powerful and less forgiving to his opponents. He is not the Kenshiro of old. Ken tells him that the blood spilt of rivals that he wanted to call friends was what did it, and Jagi correctly guesses that he is talking about Shin. Kenshiro starts to walk towards him to finish their fight, but he smashes open a valve which releases gasoline all over the floor. Jagi says that the reason he led him up here is that there was nowhere to go, and Kenshiro won't be able to escape.

Soon most of the roof is covered with gasoline, and Jagi lights a match. He throws it into the liquid, setting it on fire. He tells Kenshiro that before he is burnt to a crisp, he'll let him in on a little secret of his: the one who turned Shin to evil was none other than himself!

A flashback starts where Jagi tells Shin that he should take Yuria away from Kenshiro. Kenshiro is, after all, a weakling who shows mercy to his opponents and that is not how someone survives in this world. It will also mean that Yuria will fall into someone else's hands! He asks if Shin is just going to accept that before telling him that he should take her, in this age where the Devil smiles at them all. His words finally break through to Shin and convince him to find Yuria.

Back in the present, Jagi starts to laugh and tells Kenshiro what he just said must hurt. But he should now say his name -Jagi, the true successor to Hokuto Shinken! Kenshiro realises that he has lost practically everything because of this man and after ripping his jacket off, he hits the ground as hard as he can.

The causes the roof to crumble and both he and Jagi fall down a floor. Kenshiro reminds Jagi that this is the place he chose to die, and begins to walk towards him to once again finish the fight. Just as he is about to hit him, Jagi spins around and does a very fast strike which slashes Ken's face. Ken realises that was a Nanto Seiken technique!

Jagi tries to attack again, but he misses and his hand goes through a statue instead. Ken wants to know where Jagi learnt Nanto Seiken, but he refuses to tell a man who is about to die. He tries to use Nanto Seiken again, only to have his hand get caught between Ken's elbow and knee. Ken tells him his Nanto Seiken is slow. Jagi receives a barrage of kicks to his chest and head.

"That was for Shin" Ken tells him. Jagi goes to a pillar and rips it out of the ground to smash over Ken's head, but it has no effect! Ken tells him that he must have forgotten that one of the basic principles of Hokuto Shinken is that the strength of anger can turn the user's body as strong as steel. He punches Jagi a few times in the face which sends him flying back, and that "was for Yuria".

When Jagi gets up, he sees a spear and attempts to grab it. But when he does he has to let go and calls out in pain; Ken has hit a pressure point that makes him feel that his entire body is covered with bare nerves. He then pokes him again to set off all these nerves.

Ken wants to hurt Jagi as much as possible for what he did to Aki and Mako, as he reveals that arrow Mako shot at him. He plunges this into Jagi's chest, and then punches him in the face, breaking his helmet apart.

The power of this strike makes Jagi crash though a pillar. Before he can get up, the metal plate on his head breaks, and the bulge on his head gets bigger and bigger until it explodes. Ken says that it is a fitting, ugly death for a monster like him and that in just a few seconds, he will no longer be living in this world. It is over.

But before he dies, Jagi tells him that it isn't over at all -Ken's journey to hell has only just begun! Has he forgotten about his two other brothers? They are still alive! Jagi then finally dies and his entire body explodes, but Ken is dumbstruck: he had no idea that the other two weren't dead!
