Kaioh now understands why he hates Hokuto Soukei so much. He believes he inherited the sad spirit of Ryuoh, the outcast creator of Hokuto Ryuuken. It was Hokuto Soukei that rejected him, so Kaioh swears revenge and resumes fighting Kenshiro. He charges forward with a punch.

Ken gets hit by this but he doesn't seem effected by it, and tells Kaioh that he and his evil, twisted soul cannot be allowed to live. The two continue to fight.

Hyo, Lin and Kuroyasha are on their way to where Kenshiro and Kaioh are fighting. Things aren't good though as Hyo's health is getting worse and then in the distance they see an army heading towards them. Kaioh's force is coming their way and consists of over 300 Shura. Hyo tells Kuroyasha to take Lin and get out of here, whilst he goes out fighting.

Kuroyasha convinces Hyo to leave Lin up here whilst they both go and fight the army, as together they should be able to win, even with their injuries. The two of them jump from the cliff and soon many of Kaioh's army meet death.

Kaioh says the spirit of Hokuto Soukei still dwells within him and goes into the stance of the statue again. He then uses the Anryu Tenha technique again, which distorts the space around Kenshiro.

SEIMYOU DANRETSU

(Horrific Bullet Destroyer)

The technique ends with a powerful kick that sends Kenshiro crashing into a wall. Kaioh says that it is over as he just hit one of Kenshiro's pressure points, but Ken gets up. He tells Kaioh that the technique he just used came from Hokuto Soukei and he knows how to defend against it, so it won't effect him. That is why Hokuto Shinken is the greatest style of them all, as it was meant to be when it was created. When Kenshiro learnt the history of the Hokuto arts via the statue, he learnt about Kaioh's style and how to counter it. Ken says Kaioh's style is flawed and leaves him open to attacks. Kaioh charges forwards, but as he is about to reach Kenshiro, Ken uses a technique:

KENTOU SHADAN

(Fist Stealing Discarding Resolution)

Ken's move seems to fail to hit Kaioh, yet it is so powerful it hits pressure points in his hands. Ken tells Kaioh that he has been living a sheltered life in Shura, fighting unworthy opponents and never testing his abilities. He, however, has fought against many strong opponents, some of whom were even stronger than him...

Kaioh believes that Ken is saying that because he is the successor to Hokuto Shinken, it means he is the best. His gauntlets then break up as his arms are damaged thanks to Kenshiro's earlier attack. Kaioh asks if Kenshiro is suggesting he is inferior to Hokuto Shinken just because he stayed in this land. Kenshiro doesn't answer him.

Meanwhile Hyo and Kuroyasha are heavily injured, but they have managed to kill almost the entire army. There are four Shura left, who refuse to stand down as they were ordered by Kaioh to kill them, there is no going back for them now. Hyo kills them and explains to Kuroyasha that the reason he stayed in the land of Shura was because he was weak. He was not the Hokuto Soukei successor everyone wanted. Kaioh, however, was made to stay because of his dark nature. He was deemed unsuitable to learn Hokuto Shinken, so he did not get to go with Kenshiro, Raoh and Toki. He feels somewhat sorry for him now.

They hurry to Lin and see that she hasn't been hurt, and thankfully she hasn't woken up yet either. However Kuroyasha's injuries are critical and he tells Hyo that it was an honor to fight alongside him. He has done the Hokuto Soukei style proud and he will praise him in the next world. He dies in Hyo's arms, but as Hyo mourns him, he gets hit in the back with a boomerang.

Another army of Kaioh's has come -and they say they will finish Hyo off, which shouldn't be that difficult now.

Kaioh refuses to believe that Kenshiro is stronger than him and goes to kick him, but Ken hits his leg and badly damages it. As Kaioh gets back up, he says he will never lose to someone like Kenshiro and hobbles back towards his opponent...

...only to get his other leg busted up. He gets back up and then shatters his own armor. This releases his powerful matouki completely. With his new found strength, Kaioh tells Kenshiro that their fight can continue.

Meanwhile, Hyo cannot fight any more and gets hit with another arrow, making him fall. It looks like it is all over, but then suddenly some Shura get stomped on by a large horse -Kokuoh! The other Shura try to attack, but the rider reveals he's armed and start shooting them down.

But then even more arrows are launched from behind, and the Shura army is killed within seconds. After seeing that the opposition is all dead, the rider of Kokuoh gets off and runs towards Lin. He sees that she is still alive.

The rider is Bat and he introduces himself to Hyo. He says he has traveled across the sea for Lin and Kenshiro. He then points out that Rihaku and the rest of the Hokuto army have also come with him. They all begin to head towards Mashou lake together.
