Raoh wants to kill Fudo! And if he refuses to fight, he will have his troops kill all of the children in the village. With no other option, Fudo says that he must become a demon once more and tells Raoh to follow him. As Raoh begins to move, he also thinks back to the time when Fudo was the person who made him feel fear just once during his youth.

One night at the Hokuto Shinken dojo, a large man entered and started to kill any of the would-be successors who tried to stop him. Raoh was aware of what was going on, but he couldn't seem to move himself.

The intruder was Fudo! Two more students attacked him, but as their moves connected, they did nothing. Fudo's body could absorb attacks made against it, and his flab protected his pressure points. Fudo killed another student just by poking into his face.

The other one started to run, but despite his size, Fudo could also move quickly. He caught up with the student and punched him in the head, knocking him across the room and killing him. Raoh saw what just happened, but he still didn't move. Ryuken appeared and watched as several of the remaining students surrendered.

Fudo wanted the chest, which was full of money. He grabbed it, but saw Raoh waiting. He asked him if he was ready to die, but Raoh did not move or say anything. Ignoring him, Fudo turned around and walked towards the exit, but then Ryuken appeared before him. Ryuken said he was the successor to Hokuto Shinken, and asked him what he thought life was.

Fudo thought life was an infestation, with everyone being a maggot. Ryuken found him to be a pitiful man, but let him go without fighting him. Ryuken then went to Raoh and asked him if he couldn't move -could even he not defeat the demon?

Back in the present, Raoh wants to kill Fudo now, so he can take Fudo's spiritual energy to become a demon himself. Without fear he will be able to defeat Kenshiro. As Fudo walks on, it's time for his flashback as he thinks that once, he used to be a terrible thug who killed people and stole whatever he wanted. He remembers what happened in that peaceful town...

Fudo was running riot in the town. After taking out a few guards he saw an important looking building, so he goes over to take a look and believes that there must be something valuable hidden inside it. As he is about to open the door a little girl gets in his way: Yuria!

Seeing that Yuria doesn't seem to fear him, Fudo pretends to punch her, stopping his fist right in front of her face, but she still doesn't flinch. Believing that there must be something of incredible worth to be hidden inside there for her to risk her young life over, Fudo decides to open the doors. He does this, knocking Yuria out of the way, and finds...

...nothing but a dog, who has recently given birth to some puppies. Yuria had been looking after this dog, and when she gets back up she was pleased to see the new arrivals. Fudo is dumfounded that she risked her life to protect them, why would she do that? After giving Fudo one of the puppies, Yuria said she sees the warm change in Fudo and that this is life.

In shock and awe, Fudo realised the error of his ways there and then, and the demon inside him fades away. A villager saw what had happened and said that the demon has been defeated.

Once more in the present, Fudo arrives at a small storage structure and opens it up, revealing his old armor. He puts it on and tells Raoh that he will become a demon once more, but this time he will be protecting innocent lives rather than taking them.

Rihaku then arrives, saying he knew Raoh would come here. He knows Raoh is fearful of Kenshiro's ultimate technique, Musou Tensei, and must believe that to defeat that fear, he must defeat an ever greater fear. The greatest fear Raoh has felt was when he met Fudo when he was younger. Raoh says that Fudo's fists must be rusty, and has one of his troops sent to test his abilities.

As the guy tries to swing an axe into Fudo's head, Fudo hits his arm and completely destroys it. He then gets him in a headlock, and crushes his head, killing him. Raoh says he can see that Fudo's demon energy has returned.

Raoh creates a line in the ground and then steps over it. He then tells his troops that even if he takes one step back over to the other side of the line, they are to shoot him with their arrows without hesitation. The archers load their weapons up as Raoh removes his cape, knowing that he will die if he retreats. He is determined to win, to not shame himself of losing to Kenshiro, the youngest brother.

Meanwhile, Kenshiro has entered one of Raoh's hideouts and the guards there think they will be able to beat him since he still can't see. However...

...they turn out to be wrong, as Ken defeats them all. He leaves one of them conscious, demanding for him to reveal where Raoh and Yuria are. After being persuaded in a violent manner to speak, one guard tells Ken that Raoh has gone to Fudo's village, whilst he doesn't know where Yuria is. He just knows she has been taken to another fortress.

The battle between Raoh and Fudo begins, but immediately, Raoh dominates. After receiving one punch to his chest, Fudo gets back up and charges, only for Raoh to hit him straight in the face, making him fall down for a second time. Rihaku's men want to help, but they realise they can't as Raoh's troops will kill all of the children.

With Fudo down and seemingly out, Raoh has no further use for him. He and his children can just all die instead. However, Fudo gets back up and says that he has only just begun to see the demon reawakening inside him, and he once again charges. Raoh punches with both fists with hits so hard that his hands go through the front of Fudo's chest.

Thinking he's won for sure, he tries to remove his fists, only to find that he can't! Fudo grabs onto Raoh and then starts to crush him. Raoh sees the sadness in his eyes, the same thing he saw in Kenshiro in their previous battle, but he then manages to remove one of his fists.

The time for him to take the demon's blood is now and he strikes Fudo again. Kenshiro's shoulder pad suddenly cracks, and he knows something is wrong. He starts to run towards Fudo's village, but will he be able to get there in time?
