In Japan, Final Fight Area A was released in 2003. This version of the game contains rounds 1-3, and you can play as Guy, Cody or Haggar.

Later on in 2003, Final Fight Area B was released, which contains rounds 4-6. It also adds the Street Fighter Zero versions of Guy and Cody as playable characters (who were previously seen in 2001's Final Fight One).

I'm not sure on this, but for the American release, I believe that Area A and Area B were combined into one game. Unfortuately this version runs poorly, with a bad framerate. The amount of damage throws do was greatly increased when compared to other versions, making them the best moves in the game. There are only six basic enemy types in the game, with the clones being dropped -for example, whilst Poison is in this version, Roxy isn't.

There are no sound effects, but there is music, although some tracks are not used in the correct levels -the music from the first level gets used in the second, the music that should have been used in level two gets used in level 5, etc. If you really want to play Final Fight on the go you'd be better off sticking with the Game Boy Advance, iphone or Nintendo Swith versions.
